Renault Clio - an Efficient Car for Everyday Use
|   Monday, August 12, 2013
Renault Clio has always been a bold ride but the latest Clio has upped the quotient even further. This vehicle features different proportions than its predecessors while sporting a bigger wheel base. However, this is expected to have an adverse effect on the handling even though this has not been tested on road. Traction Control keeps wheel spin in check while the lowered suspension helps keep the vehicle grounded.

The ride height has been increased by 30 mm which enhances the interior space.
The wind screen is quite racked up and these combined, give the Clio a balanced ride dynamics. The best part about the Clio IV is that it is 100 kg lighter than the Clio III and hence is expected to be a better performer. The Clio has a range of engines powering the car and the most powerful and popular among the lot is the 1.2 liter 16V petrol engine.
A turbo charged 0.9 liter TCE petrol engine is also on the cards while a 1.5 liter 89 BHP dCi engine should also be introduced to the lineup shortly.

Every engine option is equally fuel efficient and considering the new ECO lineup, these engines emit less amounts of CO2 and are more fuel efficient.
The interior is well spaced and fully stocked and the trim level is top notch. The speedometer and tachometer have been put up close to the dash board and they look simplistic yet are well informed. This is the best combination that Renault needed to come up with in order to get the best result and the decent sized indicators work well too.

Renault focused intently on interior space which led to the enlargement of the boot space and interior space. The use of black for the background was the best aspect of the car while the interior can be compared efficiently to that of the Ford Focus or the Fiesta. Renault's focus on style and comfort are primary and the introduction of a touch screen in the middle of the center console takes care of the infotainment measures of the car.

The Renault Clio can directly be connected to an HTC, Samsung or Apple device and the car can be connected to any general smart phone via Bluetooth. Renault's revolutionary R Link connectivity measure includes Satellite navigation as standard on all mass scale vehicles. Materials used are of top quality even though this car appears to be bland. Renault has also paid considerable details to minor finishing work even though this is unheard of in a segment such as the Clio.

The cruise control button is a welcome change to the car and changes the control and power delivery accordingly. The Clio is a decent urban car thanks to its size while its power delivery makes it suitable for freeway use as well. However, the Clio is best kept within city perimeters as its power delivery could lack in the open roads. However, this is one vehicle which is designed to be taken to work daily.
