After 30 years of sponsoring the Cannes Film Festival, the French company Renault has become a little more involved in cinema. On the occasion of the 67th edition of the event they will present a short futuristic film of 12 minutes.

This it is done for the "Charlot" centenary the character played by Charlie Chaplin, and was filmed in the company of Dolores and Carmen, the actor nieces. Some of the sequences in the movie were filmed at the Renault Technocentre and present the concept car Twin'Z, which inspired the current Twingo.

Besides the above mentioned vehicles, the French at Renault have 4 surprises for the Cannes Festival in the form of mysterious prototypes based on the Twingo model. Renault enjoyed a special relationship with cinema for more than a century. During this time, they made particularly close ties with this area. These links began with the first film of the Lumière brothers, displaying the Auguste Renault, at the wheel of his Voiturette Type A and the first movie studios built in Billancourt between 1885 and 1898 alongside Renault's plants. Today, 200 television and film Productions use every year a special fleet of 40 Renault vehicles.

"For Renault, the Cannes Film Festival, with its combination of prestige and glamour, has for 31 years played a key role in promoting our new models, viewed in the spotlight of cameras from around the world! This year we are creating a buzz with New Twingo, a car that reflects the innovative and avant-garde spirit sought after by our design teams" said Claude Hugot, Head of Public Relations for the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
