Renault Alpine Sports car to outdo the Alfa Romeo 4c and the Lotus Evora
|   Wednesday, March 20, 2013
Carlos Tavares, the owner of the Renault car company is hopeful about the Alpine sports car, which is launched in the market and he believes that this new car will be able compete with Lotus Evora and Alfa 4c. But at the same time, he also mentioned about the fact, it will not be a good choice to expect too much from the new coupe firm to be able to develop a new sports car which will have the genius features which is usually found in the Porsche Cayman and this car company is considered to be an immediate rival.

He also said, the new Alpine car just can't go head to head with the Porsche, since Porsche has already got a great brand name along with many famous sports cars to flaunt to the audience. On the other hand, he also confirms about his thought about Alfa and Lotus being very realistic targets.

The Catherham and the personnel present in the Alpine car company are provided with all the necessary freedom required by them for developing the best sports car in the market. And Tavares also added, they are given the right to operate the work in an organized way, so that they don't have to face any hardships while developing the car.

Tavares is positive about his company, that is, Renault group and he feels if the Alpine company is allowed to work with their company, then the new company won't get enough space to work with enough freedom. So he feels the projects should be handled separately in order to avoid any kind of confusion.

And while developing the car, both the car company should design their car in such a way, that when a person looks at it, they should not feel, the cars are brothers from different mothers. But they should be designed in unique ways in order to establish their authentic merits. And at the same time, they should not use the similar type of car parts in the cars. All these should be kept in mind, so that different cars can be developed from both the companies.

With regards to the car parts, Tavares admits that some of the Renault parts were inevitable. To justify his point, he has given example of the design of A110 which has used some of the existing car parts but yet the car maintained its originality and unique quality. And there were no criticism about it, so he is quiet sure that, if the same idea is once again used people will accept it without any stiff criticism.

The head designer at Renaults, Laurens Van den Acker has expressed his opinion, He has confirmed that both the cars will not have the same look by any means. The originality will be maintained at every cost. And keeping in mind about the likings of the customer, Laurens has added that he will live up to the expectation of the customer's choice and he will surely design something, which will be well accepted by the audience. For instance he gives examples of the retro designs of Mini as well as Fiat 500 which is re-designed with modernized look for the audience, and Laurens is having the similar idea in his mind.
