Prototype Aventador SV Spied Testing at Nurburgring
|   Thursday, June 06, 2013
A prototype of the Lamborghini Aventador has been spotted running test laps around the track at Nurburgring during the start of the industry test season, sparking rumors that this is a test mule of the Aventador SV. If rumors are correct, this could feature a turbo charged V12 engine featuring all wheel drive. Insiders at Lamborghini are tight lipped about this vehicle at the time and they are refusing comment on any question related to this vehicle.

Officials had however hinted in the past about an Aventador SV and this is most likely the Super Veloce that people had been waiting for. In fact if this is the Aventador SV, then the final production ready model could be out in the market by late this year or early next year. The current version of the Aventador displaces 690 BHP from a potent 6.5 liter petrol powered V12 engine.

Every ultimate version of a vehicle from Lamborghini features the SV tag. However it also becomes the last version to be manufactured by Lamborghini. Therefore, even though it may seem to be potent news at the moment, it could also mean that Lamborghini is thinking about stopping production of the Aventador. The Lamborghini Aventador has been a high potential product since its launch and it would be a shame if the car is sent out of production so soon.

Lamborghini has been working on many proto types since some time now and it is not difficult to think about a vehicle after the era of the Aventador. Some of the best SV sporting vehicles from Lamborghini are the Miura, Diablo and the Murceilago. The Murceilago SV displaced 29 BHP over the standard model of the car and hence it would not be wrong to think that the Aventador will also feature a surge in power delivery.

The Murceilago SV also featured minor exterior changes which are also evident on the test mule Aventador. This could be a signal from Lamborghini regarding the Aventador SV. The all carbon fiber kit on the test mule makes this vehicle 100 kg lighter than the standard Aventador and there should be some serious surge in power from this vehicle.

Subsequently the brake calipers have been beefed up to support the excess speed while the vehicle receives a more aggressive styling. The ride height of the vehicle has also been decreased and this vehicle is stuck to the ground at all times. It is bound to enhance the handling aspect of the vehicle while making the ride more comfortable and safe.

If this test mule really is the Aventador SV, it is near complete and Lamborghini should be sending it to production by the end of the next month. This really is exciting news considering the fact that it has been some time since Lamborghini has officially been in the forefront of things. This however indicates that the Aventador could be out of production by the end of next year. With no official information or confirmation coming in so far, there are more rumors than facts.
