The GSi legend is back!
Opel revealed the new Insignia GSi - a dynamic model for connoisseurs. The GSi tradition began 33 years ago in 1984 with the Manta GSi and Kadett GSi models, both equipped with an 1.8-liter engine with 118 hp.

Four years later appeared a 2.0-liter unit with 16 valves, providing 150 hp on the Kadett GSi. The same engine also appeared on the Astra GSi in 1993, which then received an alternative unit with a displacement of 1.
liters and 125 hp.

GSi versions were also offered to various Corsa generations, starting 1988 (Corsa A) and ending with 2012 (Corsa D). Now, the legendary GSi returns on the new Insignia GSi, which will be publicly disclosed at the Motor Show in Frankfurt.
On the outside, the new GSi Opel Insignia, is distinguished by the front bumper with aggressive air intakes in contrasting color, aerodynamic side skirts, rear bumper with air diffuser and integrated exhaust final.

We also have 20-inch high-performance tires, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S, rear spoiler, and of course the GSi logo.
Under the hood will be found a 2.0-liter turbo unit, developing 260 horsepower and torque of 400 Nm, and later the Insignia GSi will receive a diesel engine alternative, also with a displacement of 2.0 liters.

Installing shorter suspension springs helped reduce the ground guard by 10 mm, and sports shock absorbers can reduce shocks very well, so the car's bodywork is moved minimally.

The future owner of an Opel Insignia GSi will be able to choose one of the following running modes: Standard, Tour or Sport, which changes the power steering settings and reaction to the accelerator pressure. There is also a Competition Mode that can be activated by pressing the ESP button twice. As a result of this action, the power steering is further improved and the traction control system is disconnected.

Inside the cabin, sports seats were specially made for this model and certified by orthopedic doctors. Customers will be able to choose two upholstery combinations for them. The seats can be heated, ventilated and have massage function.

The steering wheel will also be covered with perforated leather and the pedals will be covered with aluminum inserts.
By the way, the new Opel Insignia GSi has three interpretations that will be found in other countries. For example, in Australia this car is called the new generation Holden Commodore VXR. This comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 320 hp and 381 Nm of torque. The gearbox is a nine-speed automatic.

In the UK, the model is called the Vauxhall Insignia GSi. It comes with a 2.0-liter turbo engine that produces 260 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The four-cylinder unit is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

In the US and China, the Buick Regal GS will be available. The car hides under the hood an engine and a gearbox similar to those on the sedan in Australia. In the US, the model has a starting price of 40,000 dollars.
Sales will begin in Germany in mid-October.
