Premiere of The New Peugeot 301 Facelift
|   Tuesday, January 03, 2017
After the Citroen C-Elysee facelift, behold its twin brother, the Peugeot 301 and it mid-career facelift. Since its launch in 2012, the Peugeot 301 was sold in 360,000 copies, or 40,000 copies less compared to C-Elysee. However, the 301 model became a success due to its low price, huge trunk of 640 liters and the comfortable suspension, so with the facelift it is ready to attack in force its main rival Dacia Logan, with a more enjoyable design and with rich equipment.

The new Peugeot 301 overall is made to withstand all sorts of challenging weather and conditions. The specific design features emphasized are the suspension system, sealing and the fasteners.

On the outside, the new Peugeot 301 facelift received a new mangle characteristic of the French brand's latest models, more expressive headlamps, and daytime LEDs in the redesigned bumper. The higher versions come with chrome elements on the mangle, in the bottom of the side windows, as well as 16-inch bicolor rims.
The sizes of the new 2017 Peugeot 301 stand at 1,748 mm width, 4,442 mm length, has a wheelbase of 2,652 mm and 1,476 mm in height, the same as that of the current model. The 2017 model will be available with 185/65 R15 and 195/55 R16 tires, with the wheels coming in 2 unique designs.

The rear just received revised taillights, which are three-dimensional now. The color palette was complemented with three new colors - Artense Grey, Moka Grey and Deep Blue.

Inside, it received new color combinations, the most important acquisition being a multimedia system with a 7-inch touch screen offering 3D TomTom navigation, rear view camera integration and Mirror Screen connectivity for smartphone, which includes MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple Carplay - an unprecedented offer for this segment. Notably, the back seat passengers now have legroom going from 12 to 26 cm, which is a record for the segment, depending of course on the front seat's position.

The motorization of the new 301 facelift will bring a new petrol unit with a displacement of 1.2 liters and 85 horsepower (at 5,750 RPM and 118 Nm of torque at 2,750 RPM) found lately on several Peugeot models. The transmission in the case of this unit will be a manual gearbox with five reports.
The other petrol option is a normally aspirated engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters VTi, that is capable of producing 115 HP at 6,050 RPM and 150 Nm of torque at 4,000 RPM, associated with a five-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic one.

Those who prefer a diesel engine can opt for an engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters, offered in two versions with 92 or 100 horsepower. In this case, the transmission of power will also be done through a manual gearbox with five speeds.

We can see the 2017 Peugeot 301 facelift in dealerships next year, however we have no exact date yet. From the looks of it, we will have to wait for a bit until the car is set to leave the Vigo factory gates, the plant where the model is produced.
