Porsche Plans on Unveiling Latest Macan SUV at Los Angeles this Month
|   Monday, November 25, 2013
Porsche is looking forward to spreading out to a new audience base with the latest variant of its Macan SUV. This vehicle is part of a new generation of vehicles from Porsche and the company expects huge sales in terms of existing and new markets. Porsche will be unveiling this vehicle at the Los Angeles Motor Show while experts hint at over 200,000 unit sales by the end of its first year in global markets.

Its first lot arrives at showrooms by early April 2014 while its first consignment will be sold in the United Kingdom.
This vehicle consists of high end six cylinder engines while base price of the Macan turbo starts at £59,300 while the Macan S is available for £43,300. Its diesel variant features a price tag of £43,300 although this vehicle features a seven speed automated transmission system.

Four-wheel drive is standard on all variants and it has been built on a similar chassis as the Audi Q5 to grant more stability. High tensile steel has been used to design its floor, body structures and bulkheads while new electrical components have been used to enhance its exterior appeal as compared to Audi's Q5. The Macan also draws considerable similarities to the Porsche Cayenne and is expected to rival Range Rover's new Evoque.

This vehicle is 70 mm longer than its predecessor and this is expected to give more room to its rear seat passengers. The vehicle is also more stable than before while a lowered ride height grants stability as well. Dual wish bone suspension is in place while standard tightened dampers have been used to give this vehicle a rigid feel. Advanced software use is in place, enhancing the Macan's stability, driver aid and traction component.

Porsche claims that this vehicle has the best in class handling and performance parameters while being 200 kg lighter than any other vehicle in range. This is a huge claim coming from Porsche which should create all the difference in class. Weight close to 1925 kg in general, this vehicle has decent power to weight ratio which as a result gives it a decent power displacement figure of 335 BHP @ 6,500 RPM.

This vehicle draws power from a 3.0 liter V6 diesel / petrol engine which displace 339 ft lb of torque @ 1,450 – 1,500 RPM. Porsche claims that this vehicle is capable of acquiring a top speed of 158 MPH. Even though various engine options are expected to be unveiled duly, although we have to be content with this engine option at the moment.

Official information is yet to come out although we are quite sure what to expect from this ride. Without formal word, we will not comment on details although the basic figures are pretty straight forward and clear. This vehicle would have been a mighty competitor to BMW's M3. Specific road and off road modes are available although details are yet to be unveiled. Stay tuned for latest news and more reports on the topic.
