Porsche importer in Belgium offers a new engine version in the Boxster and Cayman ranges. It has 211 hp and uses a six cylinder boxer engine while displacing 2.7 liters.

Porsche Boxster and Cayman are offered in a 211 hpversion on the markets in Belgium and Norway. The new engine version was published on the importers'online Porsche configurators in both countries, and it is not a four cylinder unit, but a six cylinder boxer engine that has a displacement of 2.
liters.

In the case of the Boxster, motorization provides a torque of 280 Nm between 4,500 rpm and 5,300 rpm and maximum power is delivered between 5,300 rpm and 7,400 rpm. For the Cayman, the 211 hp diesel engine delivers maximum power at 7,400 rpm and provides a maximum torque of 290 Nm between 4,500 rpm and 6,500 rpm. The two models are offered with both six speed manual transmission, as well as with a PDK transmission with seven gears fitting the new engine versions.

The new version of the engine announces a combined fuel consumption of 8.4 liters per 100 km for the Boxster 211 with a manual transmission, or 7.9 liters per 100 km with the PDKversion.

In the case of the Cayman 211, combined fuel consumption is 8.2 liters per 100 km for versions with the manual transmission, and 7.7 liters per 100 km for versions with the PDK transmission. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is carried out by the Boxster 211 in 6.4 seconds with a manual transmission, and 6.3 seconds, respectively, with the PDKtransmission.

Its brother Cayman needs 6.3 seconds for the same maneuver, if it has manual transmission, or 6.2 seconds if it's the PDK transmission. The two new engine versions of the Boxster and Cayman ranges have not yet been announced on other markets where the Porsche brand is present, which means that they may be offered only in Norway and Belgium.

The 2.7 liter diesel engine is derived from the Cayman and Boxster's base, which provides 275 hp at 7,400 rpm and 290 Nm between 4,500 rpm and 6,000 rpm. This version is still available in their respective markets, and represents the entry level on other markets on which are both models sold.

Launching a 211 hp version in the lower model ranges by Porsche came as a surprise in many ways, the launch of an engine with a smaller displacement and with fewer cylindersbeing expected, but this will come only on the next generation of the two models.

The model is on sale in Belgium priced at 52,030 EUR (67,500 USD) for the manual transmission version, and 55,115 EUR (71,500 USD) for the PDK one.

Overall, emissions and fuel consumption are reduced compared to the regularBoxster and Cayman as reflected by prices.
