Porsche keen on building up a good rapport with China
|   Saturday, July 21, 2012
Porsche has unveiled the new Cayenne GTS and the Boxter S in front of the world, at Auto China, the auto expo which was held in Beijing. The Cayenne has built up a reputation of being the most reliable and sporting SUV and the GTS has done its bit to enhance the image.

The Cayenne GTS has a dynamic 420 Hp engine with increased power output and a compact chassis with lower ride height. All these factors combined make the Cayenne GTS smoother than before and a pleasure to drive.
The Porsche Active Suspension Management is also standard on the GTS and the vehicle goes up for sale in late July at 67,147 Pounds.

China is a growing market for Porsche sales and it is listed just after USA in terms of imports. IN fact, it has long crosses Germany in terms of sales figures. The sales figure in China was close to 25,000 in the year 2011 and this is almost 65% more than 2010. This is a new record for Porsche and hence, Porsche is the market leader in China, in terms of popularity and sales.

Again, the most popular Porsche vehicle in China in 2010 was the Cayenne with 13,283 units sold in one year. China is hence the leading market for the Panamera and the second largest importers of the Cayenne, Boxter and the Cayman sports.

2012 also holds high hopes for Porsche as the first quarter of the year saw 7,121 sales, a sharp 38% increase since the same quarter in 2011. Porsche is also set to build the Shanghai International Circuit, a test track for all motorsport enthusiasts.

The Shanghai International Circuit has hosted many Formula One races since 2004 and is an important landmark of Shanghai. Next to this the Porsche Driving Experience Center (PDEC) is currently being constructed. The Porsche Driving Experience Center is being constructed over an area of 25 acres and will house an integrated test track, an off road course and a slalom facility.

The facility is also set to host a training room for Porsche fans and customers. After completion – expected around mid 2013 – the Porsche Driving Experience Center is scheduled to be the third customer testing facility in the world, after Germany and UK.

Along with the United Nations, Porsche is working for the improvement in China and together with UNICEF Porsche is working for the benefit of children and adolescents for their education. Porsche is working extensively in the Sichuan, Yunnan and the Gansu areas which are mostly affected by earthquakes for the major part of the year.

Porsche is involved in charity work and it has also extended a helping hand till 2014. Till now Porsche has donated or spent around 1.2 Million pounds in the area and is planning to contribute a similar amount in the future.

The program is highly successful and the areas have recruited around 7,500 teachers since 2011. The number of students in the areas combined is close to 115,000 and is increasing daily by a huge margin.
