Porsche is ready to set rivalry against the BMW 5 series
|   Monday, December 31, 2012
According to the company insiders Porsche finally gives the green light to a direct rival for the Mercedes E class and the BMW 5 series after the research and debate of more than 1 year. Porsche will enter in the mainstream market segment for the first time if the project is finalized or rubber stamped. Porsche is planning to sell more than 200,000 cars annually by 2018.

The styling chief of Porsche, Michael Mauer recently said that a road car is smaller than Panamera "was a possibility".
Mauer's team recently spent serious time on 5 series sized concept. Now both the Panamera and Macan SUV are ready to hit the road.

Most people expect that the junior version of the Panamera (Pajun) will be a five door car like its senior version. A sport wagon version of Mercedes CLS is also pencilled with two door coupe which will be possible in the coming decade. The 4 cylinders and V8 engines are also ruled out. Most of the industry expects the Pujan to be manufactured by the coming generation MSB policy of the VW group. Porsche is also busy on developing the architecture of all wheel drive as well as rear wheel drive, which will be used for the next generation Panamera. All the future Bentley cars will also use this concept.

Porsche can use the MLB architecture of Audi's subsequent generation. It is also ready to underpin for its Macan SUV and also the future models of Audi starting from the A4 models to A7.

MLB is natively a platform of front wheel driving feature, so all the versions of MLB based pagan would be 4 wheel drives. Porsche of front wheel drive is considered unthinkable. According to HIS and auto analysis of Credit Sussie premium E cars includes the 5 Series, Audi A6 and the E Class- will be about 970,000 this year.

Promises are kept by the market segment for substantial profit margins. It is not as profitable as per unit, premium SUVs, The sales volume is bigger. For this reason Maserati is also planning to launch its new Ghibli in the market.

It is very easy to understand why exclusive brands have the potential for shaking up a segment which is dominated by the A6, E class and the 5 series. These 3 model counts about 70% of global selling in the sector.
Compared to the other segments the E segment premium market is underperforming according to the Credit Sussie Analysis. We believe that this portion of the trade ongoing towards the other vehicles. Galliers said that the opportunity of the growth in this vehicle size\ price range is very likely to come from the comparable product which may not conform the three box saloon, from the point of our view. Porsche also uses the same opportunity.

At the end it can be presumed that any product what they offer are likely have a good hatchback configuration just like the Panamera.
