Nissan Unveils the 2013 Note 1.5dCI Tekna
|   Thursday, July 04, 2013
Nissan is set to introduce the Note to the British market this October and hence a drive test was very important to give the readers a vivid idea of what to expect from the vehicle on the road. Although the basics remain same Nissan has added a bit of an emotional touch to the car and refreshed the entire design. This includes additional space with minor dynamic changes.

Boot space has also been increased while the price tag is affordable enough to make the super minis run for cover.
The current generation Nissan Note was a class leader and the next generation models plans on carrying forward this tradition. Nissan has however gotten rid of most of the modern touches to the Note and given this vehicle a more contemporary look and feel. The Nissan Note is a practical car and has the ability to rival the big sellers such as the Ford Fiesta.

The exterior look of the vehicle is the primary factor which comes to mind every time people look at the Note. This vehicle has a whole new appeal and is a class apart than its predecessor. The ride quality has been enhanced and this means improved comfort inside the cabin. The sharp body work, new and improved grille and the angular panels make this a better car at least on the visual front.

The Nissan Note draws power from a turbo charged 1.2 liter petrol DIG-S engine displacing 97 BHP. Fuel economy figures are close to 65.7 MPG while CO2 emission figures are close to 99 g/km. an Advanced 1.5 liter dCi diesel engine displaces 95 g/km of CO2 while returning close to 78.5 MPG.
The 1.5 liter dCI engine is expected to be a range topper and Nissan has high hopes pinned on to this very engine for capturing the mass market. This car is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH within 11.9 seconds and although this may not seem to be quite as exciting as people would expect, it does the job. Furthermore considering the fact that the Note is bigger than an actual super mini, the performance figures suddenly seem to be more exciting.

The engine is well balanced and feels the torque. Starting from the low revs to the high end power displacement, this vehicle does it all with élan. The Note may not be your average Volkswagen Polo or the Ford Fiesta; it still holds its own against the competitors. Once behind the steering wheel of this ride you will feel that performance is more than ordinary and the steering column is well balanced and smooth.

The DIG-S is a very capable model and the overall handling and ride quality is better than most super minis around. This makes the Nissan Note a very competitive vehicle in the market for its price range. Fuel economy is also at an all time high on the new model while the car is eco friendly which also calls for additional tax benefits from the Governments.
