Nissan Sway Concept Anticipates Micra Replacement Micra, Debuted Alongside Nismo Range
|   Saturday, March 14, 2015
Nissan has presented at Geneva the Sway concept. It heralds the Micra replacement and comes with a design inspired by its older brothers. The Nissan stand also presents the new 370Z Nismo, Juke RS Nismo, and GT-R Nismo.

The concept stands out by its radical design inspired by that of his older brothers and taken further by the designer's imagination. In addition to reverse opening rear doors, the Sway concept has a floating ceiling thanks to a trick of the pillars and enjoys the most aggressive form at the front, taken from the Juke model.
Nissan representatives say they have applied the ideas behind the Juke and Qashqai for this concept in order to develop of a future series model which would try to achieve excellent business results.

The Sway concept is the exponent of potential design directions, which could follow those from Nissan in the small segment, if its new design philosophy is applied in this class. This is precisely why the Sway concept was designed specially to be liked by European customers. Therefore, it has a design touched with a strong edge and attractive shapes.

The Japanese declare that the Sway concept was designed so as to shake the small class hatchback segment, a conservative segment of the market. This is made possible through its strong lines, the front with the striking design, and generous range of colors. In other words, Nissan seems to want to try a bold approach to the small class hatchback segment with an emotional design model, changing the whole strategy used so far.

Nissan Sway's body will have a length of 4,010 mm, a width of 1,780 mm and a height of 1,385 millimeters. These dimensions are not necessarily relative to a future model of the series. But these dimensions confirm the hypothesis regarding the segment that Nissan wants to approach it with this bodywork variant inspired by the concept presented in world premiere at this edition of the Geneva Motor Show.

Sway's wheelbase is 2,570 mm, making it fall between the current Micra and Note. In terms of length, width and height, the Sway concept is between the Micra and Note, and is significantly taller than the Micra, wider and shorter than both, and shorter than the Note.

The Nissan stand at the Geneva Motor Show presented besides the Sway concept the series versions of Nismo 370Z's and Juke RS Nismo.
The Nismo version of the 370Z's, announces 344 hp from an aspirated 3.7-liter V6 engine. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is achieved in just 5.2 seconds, and the model promises more torque at low revs, and a wide power band for the driver's delight. This version of the Japanese model is offered only as a Coupe and with a six-speed manual transmission.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo is the most powerful series model ever offered by the Japanese brand. It was amended by the engineers from the Nismo division to deliver 600 hp from a twin-turbo V6 engine unit displacing 3.8 liters. In addition, the aerodynamic package has been revised to provide an additional 100 kg downforce at high speed, and the suspension was reconfigured for the exigent roads in Europe.
