Nissan Reveals Teaser Image of the Sport Sedan Concept
|   Tuesday, January 07, 2014
Nissan confirms the launch of its all new Sport Sedan Concept at Detroit, later this month. Officials say that this vehicle has a new and energetic profile and features quite a few modifications, which will be used in future models. Nissan is known to apply sport coupe styling on its sedans as well and this has been carried forward to its Sport Coupe as well. A teaser image was recently unveiled and we are waiting patiently to uncover what lies in store.

From the early images it is clear that this vehicle is an exaggerated variant of Nissan's next generation Maxima sedan. The current generation of Nissan Maxima sedans was first introduced back in 2008, while minor modifications were added periodically. However, it shares visible design cues with the Murano, although visible distinctions can be made between these two vehicles.

Nissan has not revealed its launch plans yet although we believe they will bring forth this vehicle to parts of Europe, especially the United Kingdom, even though its current variant is not available. Nissan is looking forward to a hoard of new vehicles for launch and we have been told of a possible Volkswagen Golf rival. Details are yet to spring up, although we are looking at a mid 2014 deadline.

Two unique and radical sports car design concepts have been announced too – Nissan IDx Nismo and Nissan IDx Freeflow – while phenomenal performance is currently anticipated from both. We are yet to catch a glimpse of interior or power train works. We would be more than happy with the cross pollination of a GTR and Juke, but such a design would be impractical considering market needs.

If Nissan introduces its upcoming lineup as planned, we could be looking at stiff market competition in most price segments. Refinement, luxury and performance parameters are Nissan's strong points and we sure hope they manage to live up to the current market hype. As of now we are waiting for the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept to be revealed. Do you think Nissan will bring forth a revolution with its latest fleet? Visit this column daily to find out.
