Nissan Ready to Unveil its Next Generation GTR Nismo
|   Tuesday, November 26, 2013
Nissan has confirmed plans to replace its current variant of the GTR with a refined and new edition next year. Although newer may not always mean better but we are here to find out whether this vehicle is up to the hype or whether we could do perfectly fine with the current variant. Although this range was mostly incomprehensive before, but with its 2014 model Nissan has split this segment into two.

The high end version of this vehicle will be a fully home grown racing machine while the engineers have finally been able to customize this vehicle according to their wishes.
We have a fully operational monster which is capable of turning inside out any track presented to it. This also resembles the original Nissan Skyline very closely. The Skyline was one of its most extreme creations ever and this vehicle seems to have followed its footsteps closely, although with a dash of modern technology attached to it, which makes it a tad safer.

Suspension setting on this vehicle has been tweaked massively and this is the best aspect of this vehicle. Nissan had received numerous complaints regarding the GTR's suspension although we are sure of their absence on this machine. Even though this vehicle is not a luxury coupe, advanced suspension settings make it safe and easy to drive around corners while lending it a smooth and comfortable edge over most surfaces, although heading off road is not recommended.

Better traction and safety measures are firmly in place while under steer could be a problem if these safety mechanisms are turned off. However, this is where the drift kicks and if you are an enthusiast, you are bind to break some rules for a change and drive around with safety off. ON track however, this vehicle tells a whole new tale while in track mode it defines stability and precision.

We were lucky enough to take this vehicle for a spin around track and we do not regret this decision. This vehicle has all the positive aspects of a high end race car, while lacking its price point and luxury aspects. It should do well in its price point considering less market competition. Nissan has managed to keep its legacy intact with the GTR Nismo and we are quite sure of what this vehicle will sell like across the globe.

Although final launch dates are yet to be announced, hype in and around global markets is high, which is a good sign. Pre bookings are set to open soon and we could expect high enquiries and sales within the first few months, post which sales figures should increase manifold.

Nismo has strived daily to turn this into a profitable venture and we are sure glad they did what they did to this vehicle. This vehicle could take on Porsche's 911 quite easily while being way under budget. However, downsides to this vehicle are its low build quality and infotainment measures. However, if you are willing to forget all this and concentrate on your driving, you are better off behind the wheel of a GTR.
