Nissan Promises to Not Make Boring Autonomous Cars

Undoubtedly, in the future new car will be electrified and automated pilot systems will run on public roads. But what will be left of the driving pleasure, which is still offered by the current cars to the drivers? It seems Nissan has an answer to this question.
At the CES 2018 show in Las Vegas (9-12 January), Nissan will present the Brain to Vehicle (B2V) system that combines the thoughts, even the driver's emotions with the automatic pilot system.

It promises to bring to future autonomous vehicle drivers sensations on the road! The system is developed with the assistance of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland, within the Nissan Intelligent Mobility project.

The technology scans the driver’s brain waves that focuses decisions while driving. For example, if the driver perceives a situation where there is a need to brake, turn or speed, cruise control system will use the driver's thoughts and act accordingly. The technology will allow the vehicle to operate within a shorter period of 0.2-0.5 seconds than the driver would take action from the moment of reaction. Moreover, the technology will analyze the current emotional state of the driver and will adapt the driving style desired by the driver.

Implemented on series cars, the B2V system will certainly be more captivating than other automatic pilot systems that do not require human involvement.
However, it will not be able to offer the same sensations that are offered by current cars, which have a pronounced, fascinating feedback, while driving the steering wheel or the accelerator pedal.

It could also be a balanced compromise between the need to launch cars on the public roads that will completely exclude the possibility of accidents, and the desire of drivers to get involved in the driving process.
