Nissan Presents In New York The New GT-R Facelift
|   Friday, April 15, 2016
Nissan returns to the spotlight of the international auto market by unveiling the Nissan GT-R during the International Auto Show in New York. This facelift is distinguished from the get-go through a new look, both externally and in terms of the interior. Also, important improvements have been made in relation to the technical performance of the new model.

That being said, we are talking about the most important series of changes brought to the GT-R model until now, given the fact that this model was launched in 2007.
In terms of outward appearance the new Nissan GT-R forced the Japanese engineers to limit themselves to a few small changes that nevertheless have meant bringing a fresh air with the launch of this facelift.

Present on the market in its current form since 2007, Nissan GT-R managed to impose in the supercar segment, thanks to incredible performances which the Japanese have been able to engineer and the affordable price. Even so, to stay in the top preferences of this segment, the GT-R had to receive fresh air.

And this fresh air came to New York where Nissan has prepared extensively the revised version of its supercar. The facelift focuses on five areas: exterior design, interior refinement, driving pleasure, rolling comfort and available technology.

On the external level, the new GT-R adopts the philosophy of the letter V, suggested by a new front grille, chrome elements, and large air intakes. The hood was changed and the color palette now includes Blaze Metallic, a color applied in four layers.

Also, daytime running lights are now entered into the ventilation holes in the protection bar. Overall, the new Nissan GT-R has the same sporty look that attracted many eyes over time.

The interior cabin of the new Nissan GT-R has not escaped untouched by engineers from the Japanese automaker. On the contrary, it underwent changes more visible than on the outside. Among the novelties we notice are the sport seats, the dashboard which has been redesigned in greater proportion and last but not least, upholstery made from quality leather.

Also, both the steering wheel and gear lever have been changed. Through all these changes made the new GT-R now only has 11 control buttons, compared to the 27 it had before.

The multimedia system now has an 8-inch display, compared to 7 inches on the previous version, with revised graphics, larger icons for ease of navigation, and more modern applications.

Regarding the engine, the new Nissan GT-R is now equipped with a V6 engine with a displacement of 3.8 liters, able to develop no less than 570 horsepower and a maximum torque of 633 Nm. The transmission is still the same with robotized gearboxes, six speeds and two clutches.

However, some improvements have taken place here also, in that shifting gears is done much easier now. With such improvements it remains to be seen what figures the new GT-R will bring on the road. The current model managed to reach a top speed of 320 km / h, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h, is possible in just 2.8 seconds. The new model will be available for orders starting this summer.
