Nissan NV200 got a small recall for wiring issues
|   Friday, December 06, 2013
Nissan recent launch was Nissan NV200, a van manufactured especially for public services. It has lots of expectations and much government has signed to use this van for public purposes, but they got a problem in the van. A problem has risen in the wiring harness of the van because of this reason Nissan recalled their vans back for safety of the customers and they will mend the problem as soon as possible. The problems didn't arouse in all vans though, only vans which were manufactured in a particular period are affected with the wrong wiring.

Nissan recalled only 2,529 NV200 vans for repairs in the center; they recalled vans which were manufactured from 6th February 2013 to 2nd August 2013 for repairing the wiring problem. This problem cause engine to shutdown, but it could not create any safety problems. Because of this wiring issues problem there is no accident occurred till date.

The wiring harness problem occurred to only those vans which were manufactured in a particular assembly line; this harness can cause wearing of the protective coating of the wires in the van. If wearing of wire happens then they may cause short among wires and as result it will blow the fuse is in link with the fuel pump which power the van. Then this can blow the engine but it won't create any accident it will just shut off the van's engine.

The harness was meant to install in the terminal of battery fuse which is fusible to the system of fuel. The wires which links the fuel pump is located past the brackets of the NV200, those loose harness will wear wires which can cause short and this short will make connection with bracket and hence blow the fusible link of the Nissan's NV200.

Nissans has already notified their customers for the recall of the vans, and they also understand the effect of the recall on their customers. Nissans also ensure that they will inspect NV200 and reposition the wire and harness with no charge at all. Company will just put on a new protective coat on the wires. They even provide added coating who doesn't want to replace their vans as precautions added by Nissan.

Nissan's recall is expected to begin from the mid of December 2013 and they had also reporting to customer call for the repairing of the vans. For now the recall will be done in the North America, the problem will cause the vehicle to stall as reported by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Because of routing the wiring harness connecting the fusible link, which is in links to the terminal of the battery fuse.

It will not create any problem but if the engine shut downs in the mid of the highway then it can be a cause of accident. Nissan is doing their best to come out of this huge problem they are facing right now. They have provided the helpline for the cause. A proper service and repair can be accepted ASAP.
