Nissan Juke-R Nismo: First Teaser Of The New Performance Crossover
|   Thursday, July 02, 2015
A while ago those from Nissan considered that the Juke needs an R version and 545 hp. Some thought that was madness. Nope, that was not madness, that was just the Japanese considering that there needs to be a continuation in this direction and that the first supercar crossover in history needs a brother, even angrier than before. It will be called the Juke-R Nismo and will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 25.

So far there we only have speculations regarding the technical characteristics.
The folks at Nissan have only confirmed the model and nothing more, their attention is being channeled to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Rumors give a maximum power of 600 hp. Obviously the Juke-R Nismo will turn to Nismo base parts, and will use all the best finds it can. Discussions on maximum power were generated by the fact that the Juke-R Nismo could take over the exact same motorization on the GT-R Nismo.

This involves a V6 engine displacing 3.8 liters, a twin-turbo that produces 600 horsepower and is coupled to a double clutch transmission with six speeds.
With such a pedigree, it's no surprise that the Juke-R Nismo will sprint to 100 km/h (60 mph) in less than three seconds and that top speed will exceed 320 km/h (200 mph).

Therefore, such a dynamic performance demands a look to match. The new model will be more aggressive, as can be seen from the official teaser given by Nissan and the red accents will pay tribute to the legacy of Nismo (Nissan Motorsport).

Compared to the standard version of the Juke-R, we note the lower bumper part, the modified radiator grille shape and the introduction of vents on the hood. These are the only visible changes in the teaser image, but we can expect the actual model to come up with more changes compared to the Juke-R.

Juke has currently on offer several variants with sporting ambitions, with each having something in addition to the standard version. First released was the Juke Nismo, but the range was enriched with Juke Nismo RS subsequently and the Juke-R. The latter received the drivetrain from the GT-R supercar nicknamed "Godzilla" and Nissan decided to offer a series version which is conducted jointly with a British company.

The Japanese manufacturer announced this March its intention to extend the Nismo range in Europe European, hence the new model offensive. Darren Cox, head of Nismo division, said at that time that the development of new versions will last because the Japanese do not just want to "throw" a lot of Nismo logos on a Micra without the resulting model offering actual substance to passionate audiences.

Regarding the equipment on the series version we should remember that it has a FIA-approved roll cage, clamshell sports seats and the transmission will be equipped with steering wheel paddles for changing gears.

Price wise, we don't know how much it will cost, but consider that the R version costs around 625,000 dollars (552,000 euro), so expect it to cost a lot.
