Nissan goes maxim: the new 2014 Maxima revealed
|   Sunday, September 01, 2013
Nissan has just made public the base price for the new 2014 Maxima model which could also be bought starting this week. It seems that the new model costs $34,900 which means that the vehicle will actually have the same price as the previous 2013 model. Customers interested in the SV model will have to pay $800 more.

The company has unveiled a couple of figures regarding the engine performance which make the new car a versatile, functional option for a 3.
liter V6 with variable transmission. Although it stays the same, the horsepower would be 290 and 261 lb ft of torque.

We can only say that it should definitely be quick as Nissan has always improved the cars in reaching the best speed performance. Just as the 2013 Nissan Maxima has also been evaluated as a quick, the latest model will certainly be just the same or, of course, better.

On the speed range, 2014 Nissan Maxima might be a competitor of Honda Accord, Toyota Avalon or Ford Taurus. However, Nissan has created a very spacious vehicle with a lot of comfortable space and seats, unlike other vehicle in the same range that might not offer the same great feeling.

The materials that were used give a smooth look of the indoor and the design has suffered some changes going from edgy to edgy and nice. The star of the front console is, of course, the center screen, a very useful and intuitive hi tech option that can be paired with latest gadgets.

A basic 3.5 S Maxima model will include smoked Xenon headlights, 18 inch aluminum alloy Dark Hyper silver wheels, fog lights, rearview mirror which includes a compass, rear spoiler, metallic trim treatment and let's not forget the outside mirrors which include turn signals. The cost of such a package would be $750.
On the other hand, the SV upgraded package will include a rear view monitor, 6.0 inch monitor satellite radio and will also have USB connectivity and Xenon headlight. Quite functional, we would say.

Nissan has also thought of introducing new colors. The new 2014 Nissan Maxima will be available in two more innovative shades: Gun Metallic – a type of dark grey – and Midnight garnet. Not only the colors are the latest features, the new vehicle will also contain a premium audio system, weather and voice recognition and hard drive navigation featuring traffic information.

Evaluated according to a recent drive test, Nissan Maxima has been appreciated for the extremely comfortable driving position which is really inviting for those who love to always be on the road. It seems that the creased fenders offer the vehicle a special aerodynamics and ease in movements, truly resembling that of a sports car. Although the overall feeling of the test drive was contented, the steering gave the impression of being a bit too edgy perhaps.

Declared one of the competitors of Toyota Avalon and Ford Taurus, Nissan Maxima might be the most expensive as the Toyota Avalon was appreciated at $31,800 and the Ford Taurus at $27,500. Still, the Nissan Maxima might be the best choice as it is the only vehicle among the three that uses a CVT.
