Next Generation Mini Cooper Revealed
|   Monday, November 25, 2013
2014 Mini hatchback have surfaced prior to its official reveal today. So far this is the best looking hatchback we have from Mini while reports of sightings are expected to be true as this vehicle was up for tests within the past few months. First of these official shots were leaked late last night and we are pretty sure these are official images of the vehicle.

Mini promised its range of high end souped up versions of its Cooper lineup and we believe this is the first of its lineup, most of which are yet to be unveiled. Major reports of Mini Cooper vehicles had been coming in from parts of Europe and America and they seem to have been coming from a common source. Although much of its interior and technical specifications are yet to be unveiled, we expect Mini to offer its unique range of four cylindered petrol engines on this vehicle.

The first on the card would be its 1.5 liter turbocharged petrol engine displacing 134 BHP along with 162 ft lb of torque, followed by a four cylindered 2.0 liter petrol unit displacing 189 BHP along with 206 ft lb of torque. Additional engine lineups should be added to its range although we are yet to gain official confirmation on a probable launch date and time.

Mini however has kept up hopes by announcing a 1.5 liter diesel engine in the lineup. This should clam down the situation for a while as it was initially expected to be kept out of its next generation lineup.
This new breed of engines is more fuel efficient and less polluting which should give us better eco friendliness hence saving us money for additional tax payments.

Both diesel and petrol engines will be mated to a range of manual and automated drive trains, much of which cannot be disclosed as it is a completely new setup. Advanced start / stop facilities will be added and this should save additional amounts of gas. BMW's latest UKL1 platform has been used to design this vehicle and this should have its range of benefits when it comes to off road travel and ensuring a stable and precise ride.

Handling should also be better if insiders are to be believed while major off road performance boost has been provided to this car. Enhanced traction, precision, stability and reduction in body roll makes this vehicle quite stable than its predecessors and although it might not be the perfect off road vehicle, it is safer than most other street only vehicles.

Mini has added the new Active Safety Technology on this vehicle along with an active bonnet and this will be used on every new Mini variant from now. Pedestrian safety should also be included in standard packages although we are yet to receive official word on this. As of now we are looking towards a new breed of vehicles from Mini. Stay tuned for latest news, updates and drive tests.
