This engine further expands the Corsa family portfolio of propulsion systems integrating driving pleasure between the new generation engine three-cylinder 1.0 Turbo 85 kW / 115 hp and the fascinating flagship 1.6 Turbo OPC 152 kW / 207 hp.

While the Corsa OPC is available only as a three door model, the new 1.4 Turbo engine sports is available for both the three door version as well as five door version all for an attractive price of 12,700 euro.

"We wanted a Corsa that combines sportiness with top everyday suitability for an extremely attractive price. And we certainly achieved this with the 150 hp 1.4 Turbo. The new Corsa 1.4 Turbo is the perfect addition to our portfolio. Buyers can choose between the sporty, fresh three-door model and the luxurious five-door variant for the whole family" declared Peter Christian K├╝spert, Vice President Sales & After sales Opel Group.

When they set up the engine, the Opel engineers have focused on combining fun, assured for sportier driving with low fuel consumption. The 1.4 liter turbo engine rated at 110 kW / 150 hp, generates a torque of 220 Nm at revs between 3,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm. A six-speed transmission ensures smooth and accurate gear shifting while transfer power to the front wheels. With this configuration, the Corsa accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in just 8.9 seconds and for the sprint from 80 km / h to 120 km / h in fifth gear it requires 9.9 seconds. The maximum speed is capped at 207 km / h.

The sports driving performance is combined with low fuel consumption, thanks to Start / Stop technology from Opel, which is available in the standard version and worth the effort especially in urban traffic. The Corsa 1.4 Turbo with three doors consumes only 5.9 liters per 100 km and emits 136 g CO2 / km.

The phase imbalance of the two overhead camshafts on the Euro 6 engine ensures continuously variable valve timing and the turbocharger integrated into the exhaust manifold reduce weight and provide compactness. Among the many factors that reduce weight is the cast iron engine block with a tubular frame structure with tubular camshafts and a plastic intake manifold.

It also provides ample space for five people and a luggage compartment volume of up to 1,120 liters at a length of only 4.02 meters. Overall, the Corsa 1.4 Turbo integrates all its well-known strengths of the family car and provide as much space as it can with its compact dimensions as all its siblings.
