New Nissan X-Trail Facelift Premiere
|   Saturday, July 15, 2017
Nissan introduced the updated X-Trail, the European version. The premiere of the car took place during the UEFA Champions League final. The Chinese version was shown first, followed by the US market version, where the model is known as Nissan Rogue.

The Nissan X-Trail facelift was expected since we knew for more than half a year when the North American version, Nissan Rogue, went through a mid-career facelift and revealed at the Miami Auto Show in September 2016.
Now the Japanese manufacturer shows us the European version X-Trail facelift, which received the same updates as the Rogue facelift.

The new Nissan X-Trail facelift comes with a more aggressive character thanks to the generous V-motion grille, modified front/rear bumpers, much larger front optical blocks, and redesigned rear tail lights, which have received integrated LEDs, in the form of a boomerang, characteristic of recent Nissan models.

For the first time, the full-LED adaptive optical blocks, Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) are available.
Optical anti-fog blocks have been replaced with some new rectangles.

On the front, there is also a radar for the autonomous braking system with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control, so the logo had to be a “drawn” rather than a physical one.
The new X-Trail facelift gets new colors, Orange Pearl, Red Pearl, Blue Pearl Metallic and Dark Brown Pearl, and new 17- and 18-inch rims. The Tekna's top equipment is chrome-plated along the doors.

Inside, more qualitative materials appear and the steering wheel is picked up from the Nissan Qashqai facelift, for the first time with heating. The insertion on the board disappears and a new one, sewn from the leather, appears instead. The leather inserts are also located on the central tunnel.

The sockets of the ventilation system are now in glossy black color. The Tekna's top-end equipment receives a new optic interpretation of the leather interior, as well as a new 8-speaker BOSE audio system. The multimedia system has a refreshed and comfortable design in operation.

Thanks to the revised interior, the luggage compartment volume increased from 550 to 565 liters, in the five-seat version, while the folding rear seat bench increases to 1,996 liters.
Throughout 2018, the X-Trail facelift will also be offered with the semi-autonomous ProPilot technology, which will take control of the steering wheel, accelerator and braking system in traffic and high-speed on the highway.

The range of X-Trail engines will remain unchanged.
The SUV is further provided with the turbocharged petrol engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters (163 hp) and diesel engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters (130 hp) and displacement of 2.0 liters ( 177 hp).

The SUV is available in a front-wheel drive or full-traction version, manual transmission or XTronic gearbox with a 5- or 7-seater capacity.
In 2016, X-Trail (including Rogue) was the most popular SUV in the world with 766,000 copies sold. Sales of the new Nissan X-Trail facelift will begin in Europe in August 2017.
