New Lotus Elise Sports Racer unveiled
|   Wednesday, July 11, 2012
The Lotus Elise Sports Racer is more than just a change in the paint variety. The car is upgraded from point one and the resultant version is a top draw and is feature rich. Be it track racing or sailing through the streets, the new Lotus is up for every kind of challenge the asphalt throws at it.

Needless to say, the Elise Sports is a limited edition vehicle and only one hundred and ninety nine Lotuses are going to be built. The bookings have already started and deliveries will be made on a first come first serve basis.
If you want to own this beauty, it is recommended that you do not delay the booking process as this vehicle has a high demand in the market.

The Elise has always been very elegant on the exterior but do not let the looks fool you, as this car has enough horse power to make the higher priced sports vehicles run for their money. The sports version is available in two color schemes, racing red and mid night black and both feature racing stripes on it to distinguish it from the normal Elise.

The Sports version is approximately 2 kg lighter than the original Elise and feature an ultra light sports rim to pack in extra performance apart from the stout carbon fiber exterior. The suspension has been tweaked and a new Advan Neova AD 07 LTS tire has been connected to the suspension to make it tighter and hence improve performance in the corners.

The exterior features include a hard top, standard safety features like ABS and front, rear, roof top and side air bags. Parking sensors, braking assist, automated sun shade etc are some of the other features.

The new engine is oil cooled and this helps the engine extract better performance from the motors. The car also features Lotus Traction Control, central door locking, a sound insulation system, interior stowage system, and a black carpet set.

The massive engine on this little monster allows it to reach speeds of a hundred kilometers per hour in just above 5.2 seconds and the aerodynamics of the car has a lot to do about this. Built on a smart aluminum frame, the Sports version of the Elise is quicker, more reliable and definitely a looker.

The Sports version also uses a light transmission box and a better frame work to make this vehicle race ahead of all the competition. Apart from this a lower power to weight ratio also smoothes out the ride quality.
The car is easy to handle at low revs and is smooth as it reaches its higher rpm levels. Overall the car is good at corners due to the new Brembo suspension system attached and hence track racing is a breeze if you own an Elise.

Air condition is available but at a cost of 15 additional kg. Hence, Lotus has made it an optional feature. However, people are purchasing this vehicle for the sake of owning a street legal race car and so they can afford to gain some weight for the sake of basic luxury.
