New Hybrid Concept from Kia Optima to be launched in Paris
|   Thursday, October 16, 2014
All new Kia Optima is going to debut during the Paris Auto Show of 2014. It has a T-Hybrid concept which is a latest technology from this South Korean company. This new mild setup is really full of hybrid systems and its uniqueness makes it different from other cars of its class.

This T-Hybrid has got 1.7 liter turbo diesel system with four cylinder based engine and it is offered in middle size sedan in various countries of Europe with 47 volt powered lead and carbon battery, electric supercharger and an electric motor as well.

Unlike other full scaled hybrid system installed cars, this model has a few different setups. Just like the setup seen in Toyota Camry, which is another hybrid concept, it has its own uniqueness. However this will apply the electric mode only during low speed and also wheel cruise which uses kinetic energy technology in order to recharge the battery pack of the car.

As per Kia explained, it uses lead and carbon based batteries in this car rather than the previously used lithium ion cells. This is because this car needs special active cooling system and these can be recycled more easily after end of its life cycle.

This model comes with a new concept of stop start with a generator having belt driven facility which takes place of standard alternator which means an engine which can restart in relatively lower noisy vibration as believed by company. There are also few latest electric superchargers for diesel engines which are improved in terms of powerful performance and torque ability during running of engine especially when down low at the time of rev range.

No fuel, torque or power economy figures are made available to new drive train models, but as per company, a increment of power is applied which is between 15 and 20 percent. This would make it 100KW per 320 NM with 1.7 liter diesel and it will be offered only in Rondo people moving advisors in Australia. This will definitely give it a lot more extra punch to boost the output result and push to 385 NM and 125 KW.

Kevin Hepworth, The General Manager of Kia Australia for Corporate Communications said about implementing new drive train concepts. There is not enough time to implement this and the official statement from this brand is the power train with T-Hybrid will remain under future plans and for new Kia car models.

It has been indicated lately by Hepworth that the drive train which has been viewed in current version of Optima may produce something about while a new potential power train will be for new Optima which will be disclosed in 2015.

If any diesel hybrid model is made available during the latest generation of Optima, they would surely like to consider about it seriously as said by the company. Company also has a table of contents having hybrid concept and though Australian Kia branch has no offers on hybrid variants related to any of this company's models.
