New cars of the Mercedes Benz A-Class and their prices announced
|   Sunday, July 01, 2012
Mercedes Benz had announced new variants in the A-class segment for quite some time now. However, their prices were still classified, but recently Mercedes Benz decided to finally throw some light on the pricing. Starting from 18,945 Pounds, the revamped A-class vehicles not only offer face lifted versions of the old cars, but also new with technology under the hood.

Mercedes Benz A-class vehicles were not exactly what you would like to own when it launched back in the 1990s, due to its ugly looks and lackluster performance However, the 2012 A-class has a completely different tale to tell.

The cheapest car in the A-class features a 180 Blue EFFICIENCY 1.6 L, 122 HP, petrol engine which has 122 g/km emission and come with a 6 speed automatic transmission. The other features of this vehicle includes a CD player with a 5.8 inch LCD display, an USB port, an MP3 player, comfortable fabric upholstery and a shock absorbing suspension which makes ride quality incredible smooth.

The high end model, the SE spec, starts at around 20,125 Pounds and has the option of a petrol or a diesel engine, spoke alloys, body colored grilles, a leather finish steering wheel and leather finished sports seats.
The top end model, the Sport trim, starts at around 21,240 Pounds and is the most high end vehicle in the class. The petrol model produces a massive 156 HP while the diesel model does a decent 135 HP. This car also has options like a 17 inch twin colored spoke, different seat fabric design and a front grille with chrome highlights.

Apart from the normal saloons in the A-class segment, Mercedes Benz is also offering two revamped models of the AMG. Both the AMGs are available with the high end 211 HP displacing engine with a 7 speed automatic transmission.

The 2012 AMGs scream for attention and road presence and are a true sight for sore eyes. Mercedes Benz A-class vehicles have come a long way from what it used to be and this is great news for all Mercedes lovers.

The new A-class comes with an award winning technology, which uses electronic signals and radar combined together to help a person drive safely and watch out for signals if the person at the wheel is falling asleep.
In case of any such indication, the car automatically applies the emergency brakes and this helps avoid an imminent accident. This is an advanced cruise control system which automatically accelerates and brakes, according to the need of the situation.

A low end diesel model is awaited at this stage as no statement has been made by Mercedes Benz as of yet regarding this aspect. With the increasing fuel prices, the demands for diesel variants have shot up considerable.

Mercedes Benz A-class is finally set to earn some reputation. The vehicles are a bit costly, but they are definitely not overpriced. Providing value for money, Mercedes Benz has arrived in this segment and this is definitely something their competitors should watch out for.
