New 570S Spider McLaren - Gaze Upon Its Most Affordable Convertible
|   Tuesday, July 04, 2017
McLaren drops the roof from the Sports Series, introducing the new 570S Spider to the British market. The retractable roof gives owners the ability to enjoy sports car throughout the year.

This retractable roof, thought to retreat in two pieces, borrows the initial thinking technology for two other Spiders, 650S and 675LT models.
McLaren officials announced that this mechanism adds only 46 kilograms of weight to the 570S, this being the only extra kilograms on this model.
In addition, engineers at McLaren said the car did not differ at all in terms of structural rigidity compared to the covered model and the convertible chassis did not require any intervention for hardening.

When he wants to enjoy fresh air from outside, the driver can get rid of the roof in just 15 seconds and can do this while driving at speeds below 40 km/h. Note that the roof returns to its initial position in about the same time. The two pieces hide behind modern caps and can be observed with difficulty when the car is in motion.
At the wheel of a McLaren 570S Spider you can get rid of wind when running without a roof by using baffles, operated electronically. When they are “closed”, they do not allow the wind or the noise to enter the cabin, a situation that changes at the touch of a button.

For sports car lovers, McLaren is optionally equipped with new sports exhaust pipe, but also with a system that can drive some of the engine's noise to the cabin.
At the time of retracting the roof, the aerodynamics of the new 570S will change. That's why McLaren equipped the 12.7mm rear spoiler, which acts as a gravity force amplifier. This piece comes standard in the Dark Palladium color, but McLaren offers an optional version with a very visible carbon finish.

As mentioned above, the new 570S Spider enjoys the same performance as its “covered” brother. The V8 bi-turbo engine with a displacement of 3.8 liters produces 562 horsepower and torque of 600 Nm.

A seven-speed double-clutch gearbox sends this power to the rear axle so the car reaches 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 328 km/h. With the retractable roof, the model reaches just 315 km/h as the maximum speed.

McLaren offers the new 570S Spider in no less than 20 colors, including three new ones: Curacao Blue, Vega Blue and Sicilia Yellow. Furthermore, buyers can opt for a special styling package, a dark gray Palladium for the roof, the windscreen support pillars and the back of the car.

Let's not forget the new McLaren rims, rebuilt for this model, 10-spoke alloy wheels, 19-inch front and 20 in the rear. If you are not comfortable, the manufacturer has also prepared a black-and-liquid finish for the brake calipers on all four wheels.

The new McLaren 570S Spider debuted publicly at the Goodwood Speed Festival, a festival that ran from June 29 to July 2. Deliveries will begin in September, costing 208,000 dollars in the United States.
