New 2017 Mazda6 Lands In Europe This Fall
|   Thursday, August 18, 2016
The 2017 Mazda6 version will debut on the market in Europe this fall with numerous premium items and will continue to point out the idea that it did not compromise driving pleasure for practical reasons or refinement.

Mazda6 has long been seen as one of the most attractive models and best handling in its segment. Now it raises the bar by introducing for the first time in Europe, the G-Vectoring system control (GVC). GVC is the first in a new series of SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS technology, which provides integrated control of the engine, transmission and chassis to enhance the Jinbei Ittai feeling, the joining with the car, which distinguishes Mazda models for other vehicles.
GVC is based on the revolutionary idea of increasing the performance of the chassis using the engine and is the first technology in the world which adjusts engine torque depending on the direction.

The engine range of the 2017 Mazda6 version has three SKYACTIV petrol engine variants: one rated at 145 hp and 165 hp belonging to the SKYACTIV-G motorization with a displacement of 2.0 liters, and a SKYACTIV-G engine with a displacement of 2.5 liters with 192 horses.
There are also two diesel engines, twin-turbo, with 150 hp and 175 hp variants of the SKYACTIV-D engine with a displacement of 2.2 liters, coupled to a manual transmission or an automatic one.

The SKYACTIV-D diesel engine with a displacement of 2.2 liters has three new systems to increase responsiveness and reduce engine noise: High-Precision DE Boost Control improves control of turbocharging pressure to make for more accurate response to the pedal accelerator; Natural Sound Smoother, uses a damper to mitigate the noise of diesel detonations, and Natural Sound Frequency Control varies the engine distribution to neutralize pressure waves suppressing three critical frequency bands. Normally, the engine parts vibrates the loudest in these three frequency bands.

This engine's quietness increase is complemented by a general improvement in noise insulation on the 2017 Mazda6's interior.
This is due to improving the seals on doors, reducing the spaces between panels and adding soundproofing materials under the body, rear overhang, roof and doors. Front door windows are laminated and reduce even more the wind noise.

Inside, the design has been improved to enhance Mazda's unique character, given the interior centered on the driver, which includes a steering wheel with a new design, a new Head Up Display with higher resolution and color graphics, with the best readability under varying light conditions and a 4.6-inch TFT LCD screen that displays information for the driver also with improved graphics. On the outside, a new premium color Grey Machine is introduced.

The 2017 Mazda6 is available with a full range of passive safety elements and active safety like i-ACTIVSENSE technologies. These include, a first in Europe, the new feature Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), which identifies signposts should it detect access denied and speed limitations and alerts the driver if he does not observe them, and the Advanced Smart City Brake Support (Advanced SCBS) that replaces the infra-red laser with a sensor video camera, thus widening the speed range in which the system detects other vehicles.
