MyFord Touch - Is that really a Mistake?
|   Tuesday, September 11, 2012
At the end of 2008, General Motors begins with creating an infotainment touchscreen system for Cadillac, at the time when the Ford Motor Co. had already started with the development of such technology named the "MyFord Touch".

However MyFord Touch arrived in the market approximately two years earlier, at the 2011 frame. As the criticisms poured in and Ford's class ratings pitches, it is assumed that GM will come up with better technology which will upgrade their rating in the market.
The touch screen is supposed to enter the market in the month of June, 2013.

The additional time with GM made them work with ease which made their workers to travel along on commutes and even a holiday so to get revise how drivers relate by their cars and mobile strategy, so to work to remove additional bugs out of the organization and fine-tune it.

"Always coming first is not always better for everyone as happened with Ford," said by the CUE program manager Jeff Massimilla.

Ford's wanted to show themselves as an innovator which they have suffered visibly and also it has been a teaching for the industry that repeatedly battles to be foremost at everything are not always superior and can lead in hard sufferings.

"Ford obtained one for the band", said by global automotive vice president Dave Sargent, at J.D. Power and Associates. The problem with the MyFord Touch of the Ford has definitely warned other automakers and so they have started to think again about their strategy. It has been in news that some of the automakers have already moved too far and are now at the stage of launching their product in the market that has many features nearly same as the Ford which is bothering the makers.

Ford got success in creating a big splash when it exposed MyFord Touch in the market, getting wide admire at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2010 at Las Vegas. Alan Mulally (CEO of Ford) highlighted the structure as proof that the company is speedily using new technologies, saying it might give a reason for the Smartphone-addicted customers to buy Ford cars as well as trucks.

Ford's choice to move away from the conventional knobs and automatic switches so to work in favor of controls of touchscreen has been key issues of criticism. Despite of being capable to put a recognizable button with a fast glance or by sense, drivers are forced to get their eyes away from the road to find the appropriate mark on the screen, or buttons that are planned to be flush with the middle stack other than protrude. Frequent tasks that's supposed to be easy, such as changing the temperature, can need several finger presses.

Looking at the bad reviews for the technology, Ford has decided to make changes to it and to make it fit better keeping drivers comfort in mind. An associate of Ford said "it is not like people are not loving the MyFord touch, the only thing is it has got some uncomfortable application which we are replacing soon".
