\'Motor Trend\' names Tesla Model S as Car of the Year

Requirements and innovations is an ongoing process to discover the best suitable ways to overcome challenges of the times and it always results in the form of new inventions and up gradation of invented products. After the successful installation of combustion engines, utilizing gasoline as a fuel in automotives, there was a booming era of this industry, in which to a larger extent, outstanding advancement was achieved in developing its structure and parts.


But after oil crises and sudden hike in its prices, aggressive efforts have gained momentum to develop affordable alternative of gasoline. Remarkable working models presented by inventers using substituting fuel got approval of auto and allied industries and geared up production of these models on commercial scales and these are now appreciated by auto related exp ertise a nd journals.

The news of time for auto world is Tesla's Model S sedan, electric powered vehicle which is named as winner of the year by Motor trend. It is first time in the 64 years history that motor trends coveted car is not powered by combustion engine and the vote is unanimously decided by the judges. To become the winner of 2013, Tesla sedan leaved behind, Porsche, Subaru, Lexus, BMW and many other luxurious and sports legendaries.
Motor trends awarding provides a second thought for the auto experts who are not yet optimistic for battery powered vehicles and also for many magazines admiring passenger cars like Tesla's sedan.

Motor trends further declared in its article, that Tesla's sedan which is nominated by them to be on the front page of their January 2013, issue as car of the year is the car of the decade as the drive provided by the car is simply amazing! It is stated that it provides the drive of a Rolls-Royce, is spacious as a Chevy Equinox and efficien t as Toy ota Prius," Motor Trends further compares it to Lexus LS 400 and states that it is the best car to come since the original Lexus.

The car is the innovation of Elon Musk who is the entrepreneur of a California based auto company. The price of the car starts at $57000 and it can run an astonishing 265 miles on a one time charge.

From the facts and figures issued by the Motor Trend, it covered the electric equivalent of 118 miles a gallon on a 212-mile stroll. The 4766-pound car easily secured from zero to 60 miles per hour in 4 seconds. Its electric motors could give output, equivalent to 416 horse power in gas engines. It is capable of achieving top speed of 133 mph. One could easily understand that Musk and his team selected a target to build an electric powered car, better than any gasoline car, and they did it. It becomes true after winning Motor Trend's Car of the year, agreed by all judges.

By introducing sedan Model S, Tesla proved it that American autom obile in dustry has the potential to produce great things.
