Mosler and Rossion Automotive Expects a Merger
|   Monday, July 22, 2013
Mosler Automotive will seize to exist independently after its merger with Rossion Automotive and experts indicate that the firm will be using the Rossion brand name to trade in the future. The properties of both companies will be merged and will be christened as Rossion Automotive and Mosler's expertise in the field and resources will be used to enhance the manufacturing capability of Rossion.

A spokesperson on behalf of Rossion Automotive claimed that this Florida based automotive company will be introducing four, six and eight cylindered engines to power the next generation vehicles from the company while Mosler's expertise in the field of light weight carbon fiber forging will be used to design the chassis, body frame and the other important parts of the next generation sports cars.
Rossion Automotive is currently known for the Q1, its sole production vehicle and the company is confident of a change in fortune with the introduction on the new batch of vehicles.

The Q1 is a mid engine, rear wheel driven sports car designed around the Noble M400 and the company was into designing and racing sports vehicles since early 2003. Rossion is known for modifying vehicles from Noble and changing them into race bred vehicles and the company was previously known as 1G Racing.

The Rossion Q1 is capable of reaching a top speed of 189 MPH while reaching 0 – 60 MPH within 3.1 seconds. The Q1 is powered by a Ford DuraTec 3.0 liter V6 engine displacing 450 BHP and this was a historic creation for the vehicle. Mosler Automotive is known for building sports vehicles which are barely street legal and as a result Mosler was the primary choice for Rossion.

Many mid engine sports cars were designed by engineers at Mosler although none of these vehicles ever made into production as these cars found it difficult to be termed street legal owing to their massive torque and high performance engines. These cars produced a minimum of 190 BHP while sporting a total body weight of less than 1000 kg.

This gave these vehicles an immense power to weight ratio and hence high performance. Mosler reportedly designed the first actual car without structural material, a policy which made cars such as the Ariel Atom and Cobra famous little monsters. Mosler successfully manufactured its first production ready car, the MT900 almost a decade after entering the automotive sector. However, this vehicle was highly successful owing to its practical approach to speed and ways to control it.

The MT900 took part in many races and was also successful in quite a few. The MT900 took part in endurance races such as 24 Hours Le Mans at the Daytona track etc. The MT900 however is an elegant super car and the design is very practical and aerodynamic. The car managed to attain high praise and won races owing to its light weight yet strong chassis and body frame. This new partnership promises to be highly rewarding for both companies and their first vehicle is hugely anticipated.
