Monthly Sales at 19 Months high this September in the UK
|   Monday, October 07, 2013
Monthly car registration figures have hit a five year high this year as annual reports came in this September. 63 plate vehicle registrations have given car registrations in the UK a fivefold increase within the past few years. 403,136 vehicles were registered in UK last month and this is 12.1 percent increase during the same period last year. September 2013 is the best performing month since March 2008 in terms of general performance.

It is also the first time since 2008 that car registrations have crossed 400,000 in a single month.
Industry experts are hoping for a better future as increase in registration has fuelled a spark in other markets as well. This could actually indicate at a market recovery program since induction of new schemes in the UK. This growth describes people's sentiments and it shows customers making purchases.

With global rise in crude prices, motor companies are working towards making vehicles more fuel efficient. This has made modern cars more fuel and environment friendly which in turn has drawn in more customers through the months. There was a time not in the distant past when people were actually delaying car purchases. This period also witnessed huge losses in this industry. However, experts think that dark days are finally behind them.

SSMT Chief Mike Hawes says that this is sustainable recovery as business, corporate and commercial fleets are also showing signs of recovery. September showed considerable improves and this graph is being calculated keeping the past 19 months in cue. This year close to 46.2 percent market recovery has been recorded so far while experts believe this figure will cross 49 percent by year end.

Diesel market share has improved by 50 percent while petrol sales have increased by 48.2 percent. Ford Fiesta is quite popular with the masses and Ford has recorded highest sales figures so far for any vehicle across global markets. A list of best selling vehicles in the UK was published recently and it goes as follows:

- Ford Fiesta – 20,629 units
- Vauxhall Corsa - 14,464 units
- Ford Focus - 14,295 units
- Volkswagen Golf - 12,265 units
- Vauxhall Astra - 11,014 units
- BMW 1 Series - 10,084 units
- BMW 3 Series - 8,309 units
- Peugeot 208 - 7,953 units
- Nissan Qashqai - 7,771 units
- Fiat 500 - 7,422 units

Attractive offers have also played a huge part in increasing car sales. Quieter months lie ahead and this is when real tests will be conducted. Out of 10 cars registered in UK this month, 9 are of European origin. This ensures major progress within an industry as strong as this one.

Brits have gained a new taste for home grown vehicles and this is always a good thing. British designs have coped up with global designs quite well. Imports from Japan were originally bestsellers in most European countries, mostly due to its fuel and environment friendly nature. Next reports will be filed quite soon and we hope results turn out to be similar to this month's.
