Mitsubishi's Latest ASX Provides Perfect on and off Road Pleasure
|   Saturday, December 21, 2013
Mitsubishi first launched its ASX SUV back in 2010 even though not much has been done on this vehicle since. Even though Mitsubishi had high plans for their ASX, this vehicle did not seem to find much popularity with global audiences. This as a result forced Mitsubishi to ditch plans for the moment. However, with rise in demand for SUVs across emerging markets, Mitsubishi plans on providing suitable vehicles to China and other Asian markets.

Recent engine modifications paired with exterior changes have not helped the ASX gain lost ground while an unfortunate event forced Mitsubishi to raise prices.
Considering the faltering global economy this was not a smart move although the company apparently did not have many cards to play. Hence, approximate sales target of 8000 units per month dropped to less than 3000. Money spent on advertising decreased hence fewer ASX was visible on British soil.

However that was the past and Mitsubishi is pushing ASX sales for good. They have had a successful year so far and hence are planning on launching new models. The ASX is the first model to come into place as Mitsubishi tries to do what it couldn't achieve in the past. Dealership networks, post sales support and service stations are being setup across Europe and we could be looking forward to Mitsubishi reestablishing itself in Europe.

Competitive pricing is not just the only favorable condition now as major revisions have been made to the original ASX. This vehicle is not what was on offer before as modernization takes place here. Latest suspension and drive train changes make this car wonderful to drive on and off road while travelling on soft road feels the best.

Some of the most prominent modifications made to this vehicle include rear suspension change, additional sound damping materials on the interior along with installation of latest equipments. Entry level variants feature USB and Bluetooth connectivity while power train modifications are the best and most exciting. The 2.3 liter diesel engine displaces 148 BHP along with 266 ft lb of torque while maximum power is sent to the front wheels.

Mitsubishi however has added a switchable four wheel drive for off road experiences while acceleration from 0 – 60 MPH is possible within 10.8 seconds. Average fuel economy is within the range of 48.7 MPG along with CO2 emission of 153 g/km. Road tax benefits are not likely with these figures although the vehicle will be more efficient than Mitsubishi's latest Outlander. This range topping ‘4' grade model includes satellite navigation, advanced climate control, cruise control, rear parking camera, keyless entry, privacy glass, panoramic roof and front and rear fog lamps are provided as standard.

Experts criticized previous models of the ASX although they should not have any such comments regarding this vehicle. Mitsubishi has worked hard enough on this vehicle and it is time to reap the benefits. Driving this vehicle on and off road is a pleasure and it should do well on European, Asian and other markets.
