MINI Paceman, the younger brother of the model Countryman, was officially revealed, while some new versions are speculated

The most recent statement of Norbert Reithofer, the director of the BMW Group, was about the fact that MINI lineup can consist with no problems of 10 different models. Soon after, introducing 2013 MINI Paceman at this week's 2012 Paris Auto Show, the total number of cars made under the brand MINI rose to seven. The concept of the new MINI Paceman was first time presented at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show and was described to be the mini-SUV or the 3-door version of the 5-door Countryman.

Until now, MINI approaches the record with models such as: regular Cooper, Convertible, Clubman, Countryman, Coupe, Roadster and of course the newest Paceman. So we just have to wait for three more models. In fact, we already have an idea of how the next car will look. That's because MINI gave us a preview of the smallest version of MINI, called Rocketman, created to help us sneak through the crowded urban environments. Unfortunately, because of the cost and also the safety priority, the production was delayed.

Another possible version is one related to Mazda MPV, which is believed to be in an extremely early phase of testing. After it was seen in Germany while was tested, rumors said that this model should be named Traveller like the one released in 1961. But we still remain with some other question marks.

One more model is revealed by Harald Kreuger, a MINI brand board member, who says that a new MINI will be inspired by the Countryman Crossover concept, the sports cars and the sedan, but it will be bigger. He also comments that the Rocketman is too expensive to execute, but a smaller model of the current Cooper still quite possible.

Meanwhile, the customers in China are the target for the new MINI sedan concept, because they can easily overtake the U.S. and become the top market of the MINI brand. This news is very credible taking in consideration that the original MINI had already two popular sedan versions, the Wolseley Hornet and Riley Elf.

Some other interesting design ideas for a new MINI will come from the famous Mazda MX-5 Miata, which will add some light lines to the MINI concept and will bring out great handling features.

Until then we have the fresh MINI Paceman which is almost identical to his brother Countryman, the small difference being noticed at the large doors, the aggressive line of the roof and the back, which is completely redesigned. The MINI Group affirms that they haven't changed just the design, but also have improved the chassis and the suspension, thereby giving a sporty allure to the new product.

Besides that, at the beginning of the next year, when it will arrive in the showrooms, it will be available in two varieties, Cooper and Cooper S, with a possibility to choose between four engine types, two on gasoline and two diesel.
