Mini launches the all new John Cooper GP
|   Thursday, November 15, 2012
The Mini John Cooper GP is finally here and this is being described by BMW Mini as the fastest Mini to have been produced. Basically, the older version of the GP was completely ripped apart and the engine with some new modifications was inserted under the hood of an all new chassis. The engine has been tweaked to improve top speed by 7 MPH and the acceleration time has also improved. As a result, the vehicle reaches 0 – 60 MPH 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor.

The chassis remodeling is the primary aspect which has changed the way that the Mini John Cooper GP rides, feels and handles and the expert engineers from BMW are to be given the credit for this makeover. The ride height has been reduced by 20 mm and this is sufficiently balanced with the help of a stiffer suspension system. The longitudinal stiffness has also been increased by fitting the front suspension upside down.

The all new 17 inch wheels on the John Cooper GP have specialized rubber which provides more grip while and has been developed especially for the Korean GP races. Although the Mini John Cooper GP may sound expensive, it is available for 28,790 Pounds and costs a little more than the M135i. On track, the John Cooper GP is the beast and the mammoth power displacement along with the smooth handling and perfect body balance, the vehicle handles smoothly enough for track.

The exterior has a few extra badges installed to differentiate it from its predecessor. The interior has also received a few touches which make it more desirable than its predecessor. With fine stitching on the interior to give the vehicle a very classy appeal along with high standard materials used for the interior, the John Cooper GP has a great blend to it. The interior mostly features the use of black and the smart use of red to highlight the different features.

The roof lining is made of anthracite and this gives the interior an overall better feel. Recaro sports seats also instills the racing thrill into the heart of the driver and as a result, the John Cooper GP is one of the best vehicles from Mini as of yet. The GP is one of the fastest Minis to hit the road and once the acceleration has been pushed to the floor, the vehicle feels very fast owing to its high engine displacement and light weight. However, the GP is a limited edition vehicle and apart from the track vehicles, 2000 units will be produced for the customers.

As a result, the demand for this vehicle is quite high and the bookings have been started. The vehicle is expected to be available across showrooms fall 2013 and preparations are being made for the official launch. The hype generated around the Mini John Cooper GP is increasing on a daily average and as a result there is a very low number of GPs left to be sold. If you are genuinely interested in purchasing this vehicle it would be smart to go book the vehicle as early as possible.
