Mercedes Benz to Import B Class Electric Drive to USA by Weekend
|   Thursday, June 26, 2014
Daimler AG has confirmed shipping the first batch of their Mercedes Benz B Class Electric Drive to the United States within this week. This decision comes at a time when the electric car market is being dominated mostly by Japanese car makers, like Nissan's Leaf, Toyota Prius and the likes of American carmaker Tesla.

BMW's i3 have also played a strong role, in inspiring Mercedes Benz to come up with a vehicle in this sector. Even though BMW has been unable to bite down on the American market, as much as they would have loved to, Daimler's new proposition will further decrease BMW's chances.

Competition will definitely soar in class, especially since most major players are making a dash for the American market. Electric vehicles were not very popular here in this part of the world, till Toyota proved them wrong, by selling over a million units of their hugely popular Prius. Things haven't looked dull since.
