Mercedes Benz is ready to roll out its face lifted E Class cabriolet and coupe. The vehicles have been inspired from the E Class sedan and estate and the front end and other designing features are similar. The quad headlamp treatment on the outgoing models have been incorporated in the new vehicles and the grille has also been made wider and clearer, hence inspiring a more retro look on these vehicles.

This makes the overall vehicle look clearer.
The drive train and other power train however depict the actual prowess of the E Class vehicles and the cabriolet and coupe are expected to be quite powerful. Mercedes Benz has made the vehicle's petrol based and a diesel alternative is not available as of yet. The details from the outgoing models have been noted down and the new vehicles are expected of feature better mileage and CO2 emission norms.

The entry level vehicle is powered by a 2.0 liter, four cylindered turbo charged unit which develops over 181 BHP for the E200 and 206 BHP for the E250. The supporting engine blocks figure a four cylindered 2.1 liter Common Rail Diesel Engine displacing 168 BHP for the E220 CDI and 201 BHP for the E250 CDI respectively.

The high end turbo charged Common Rail Diesel V6 3.0 liter Engine unit displaces 248 BHP for the E350. Mercedes Benz has installed a urea installation kit which aims at reducing fuel emission standards. The E500 Coupe features a twin turbo 4.6 liter V8 engine, this model has however been deleted from the British inventory list as it does not meet the fuel emission norms laid down by the European association.

Mercedes Benz has also provided two transmission options for the coupe and the cabriolet and people are free to choose from the one they feel most comfortable with. An upgraded seven speed automatic transmission system has been installed apart from the regular six speed manual / automatic transmission system. Both the transmission systems come with start / stop as a standard feature and the brake energy recuperation system has also been made available.

Mercedes Benz is also aiming at improving the quality of the safety and trim levels installed in their vehicles and the best example of technology used ate the satellite navigation system installed in the vehicles, a radar based anti accident device, attention assistance and the braking have been increased to check head on collision. Mercedes Benz is quite a reputed company when it comes to safety features and this is a proven fact that needs no definition.

Their most effective safety feature was the introduction of the Distronic plus system and the optional stereo multipurpose camera that provides a three dimensional view up front for up to 50 meters. The prices of the new E Class vehicles are yet to be discussed however it is estimated that the E200 will be priced close to £33,000.
