Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe Is The Most Powerful Coupe In The German Manufacturer's Range
|   Wednesday, March 04, 2015
Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced the S65 AMG coupe model after at the end of last year it launched the most powerful version of the S-Class luxury sedan.
In the range of the new coupe, the S63 AMG model already exists which does not lack power, but the German manufacturer knows there are customers who want more, so now it offers the S65 AMG Coupe.

The heart of this grand tourer model is a 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine that develops no less than 630 hp between 4,800 and 5,400 rpm.
The peak torque of 1,000 Nm is achieved between 2,300 and 4,300 rpm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is done in 4.1 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / hour.

In spite of these numbers, the dynamic performance of the new AMG high-performance coupe needs an average of only 11.9 liters per 100 km, equivalent to emissions of 279 g / km of CO2. Thus, the new S 65 AMG Coupe is significantly more fuel efficient than all its rivals. Compared to the previous model, the CL 65 AMG, the fuel consumption was reduced by 2.4 l / 100 km. Also, the 12-cylinder engine meets Euro 6 emissions standards.

"There are AMG fans for whom our V12 biturbo engine is the measure of all things. For this clientele we have developed a unique car in the form of the new S65 AMG Coupe. From driving dynamics to comfort and equipment – our new twelve-cylinder coupe surpasses even the highest of expectations," said Mercedes Chairman Tobias Moers

The power is transmitted to the rear axle through the automatic transmission 7G-Tronic Plus with seven speeds. The gearbox offers three driving modes, the driver being able to choose between Efficiency, Sport and Manual.
For extremely comfortable road holding, Mercedes offers the Magic Body Control system that adjusts the suspension setting, scanning the road ahead and adapting in real time.

The standard version combines the Active Body Control (ABC), ROAD SURFACE SCAN and the tilting unique curve function. This allows the model to tilt in curves in a manner similar to a motorcyclist.

The new Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG runs on alloy wheels measuring 20 inches. It uses tires sized 255 / 40 for the front axle and 285 / 35 for the rear. Braking is provided by steel discs, but a customer can also choose optional ceramic discs.

The S65 AMG Coupe uses a Li-Ion battery as standard. It has a capacity of 78 Ah, and replaces both the classic battery for electromotor as well as the battery for the accumulation of recovered energy. The Li-Ion battery is 20 kg lighter than the classic system with two batteries.
The interior is as luxurious as the sedan's. Nappa leather sports seats, sports steering wheel with three spokes and a 12.2-inch digital display, all customized with the AMG signature style can be found.

The new Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe can already be ordered from the starting price of 244,009 euro, but the "real" launch will take place at the end of September.
