Mercedes Benz S500 L Specifications Revealed
|   Thursday, August 01, 2013
Mercedes Benz has claimed that its new S Class vehicles are the best in the world. This is a claim which needs to be tested and successive drive tests had been conducted by a panel of automobile experts to determine whether this claim is actually fool proof. The Mercedes Benz S500 L is the all new vehicle which is expected to be introduced to the lineup and this is the first major enhancement made to the range post 2005.

The S500 L is expected to be inducted into the lineup fall 2014 and tests are currently on to determine the road going ability of this car.
Once inside the vehicle you will feel that the buttons, upholstery etc have been designed to give this car an individuality lacking in most other vehicles. The engineers and designers have gone through a lot of pain and hard work to make this car what it is.

Driving this car is a whole new story. The S Class is known to be chauffeur driven but the S500 L is a pure driver's car. Power comes from a 4.7 liter V8 engine displacing 449 BHP along with 700 Nm of torque. The engine revs the most along the 1800 BHP mark along with 500 Nm of torque. The S500 L is capable of returning 30.3 MPG to 32.7 MPG and this is more efficient than the current range of vehicles.

The interior is well decorated and the pricing is justified once the intricate detailing of the car is viewed. The suspension needs equal amounts of credit and this enhances the handling and comfort level of the vehicle. The S500 L is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH within 4.8 seconds and this is fairly impressive once you consider the overall weight of the car.
Mercedes Benz has tried to keep the weight down but the car still weighs close to 2200 kg. The powerful gasoline propelled car feels nothing but power under the hood and this gives the vehicle a top speed of 140 MPH. The traction control on the vehicle is quite high and this is effective around corners.

Although the S500 L is not meant for track driving, the car fared quite well at the track test. Mercedes Benz is planning on introducing a hybrid version of the car and this is estimated to return 71 MPG. Technological features adorn the vehicle and this car has been endowed with 200 GB of internal memory. CO2 emission has been decreased and the new figures are static at 115 g/km.

Heated seats and arm rests are the most important addition to the car and this empowers complete comfort inside the cabin. The adequate head and leg room apart from the boot makes the S500 L a very comfortable car for long cruises. Mercedes Benz says that this vehicle will be officially available at showrooms post April 2014 and this has kept the hype alive. Pre booking is expected to begin by end 2013 although this is yet to be affirmed.
