Mercedes Benz launches the new E63 AMG
|   Monday, January 14, 2013
The Mercedes Benz E63 has got a new leash of life with the company deciding to upgrade the general ergonomics of the vehicle. Mercedes Benz plans on upgrading the E Class vehicles in general and the E63 is one of the greatly anticipated launches to be made by the German car giants. Mercedes Benz has promised a power train modification in accordance with their AMG division and this is a major attraction for the people fancying the E63.

A minor external face lift is also anticipated and the luxury components could be uplifted.
As the E Class is a purely luxury segment, Mercedes Benz pins up this vehicle against the leading performers from rival factions such as BMW and Audi, therefore it is less likely that they would like to mess around with the quality of vehicles in this segment.

The estimated price of the E63 AMG is close to £74,920 and the vehicle is expected to be showcased at the Detroit Auto Show set to commence next week. The exterior styling on the E63 AMG has featured a radical change and all future AMG models could be based on this design pattern in the near future. The aerodynamics of this vehicle has also been upgraded and the face lifted AMG is a car to keep a look out for this year.

The front end has received a more aggressive treatment and the dual headlamps have been further compressed below to give the vehicle a mean approach. The aerodynamics of the vehicle has been improved and the air flow underneath the vehicle has been improved and as a result the drag coefficient has been improved making the vehicle perfectly aerodynamic.

The side view mirrors have received a carbon fiber treatment and the new side sills have a two tone color treatment. The center splitter allows more air to flow through the car and quad trapezoidal patterned tail pipes have been installed in the vehicle. The new AMG runs on a 5.5 liter twin turbocharged petrol engine and develops 549 BHP with an additional 577 ft lb of torque.

The performance engine lineup from Mercedes Benz has been labeled the M performance lineup and the engine feels at ease between 1750 to 4500 RPM while the idling range is below 750 RPM. The new Mercedes Benz E63 AMG is capable of crossing 0 – 60 MPH in 4.2 seconds and this features an improvement of 0.1 seconds as compared to its predecessor. The vehicle boasts a top speed of 186 MPH and this has been increased since 155 MPH of the E63.

Straight line performance of the vehicle has seemed a drastic change of pace and the E63 AMG posts a fuel efficiency result of 28.8 MPG which is sufficiently high for a Mercedes Benz with so much power and features as that of the E63 AMG. CO2 emission is 242 g/km and this is way out of the league for a vehicle such as the E63 AMG. However, it is still street legal.
