Mercedes Benz has plans to launch the new SLS AMG GT
|   Friday, November 02, 2012
Mercedes Benz has optimized the performance on the SLS AMG GT, hence making it the most performance oriented Mercedes ever on track. The German engineers in an attempt to create a performance oriented machine have created a monster that is capable of tearing apart the track.

This vehicle is however more poised than its predecessor and as a result it is a better overall proposition and more rewarding than any other AMG on road. This vehicle is a part of the Mercedes Benz road show lineup that the company has been designing and the vehicle is expected to sport a price tag of 180,000 Pounds when it launches and the roadster version is expected to be priced upwards 188,000 Pounds.

Both these vehicles have been priced 12,000 Pounds more than their predecessor and performance wise the vehicles have seen a major enhancement too. The SLS AMG Black Edition is nearing the end of its testing period and it is time for Mercedes Benz to launch the final model of the vehicle.

The SLS AMG GT features external styling that separates it from the base model of the SLS AMG and the darkened head lamp and tail light gives it a specified and purposeful look. The paint scheme has a metallic gloss effect and the Black Edition looks the best with the Metallic Jet Black finished exterior with matt black panels and shafts enhancing the overall look of the vehicle.

The front grille, mirrors, brake calipers and the bonnet fins have a matt black coating and this enhances the appeal of the vehicle. The interior has also been face lifted and the bright LED instrument cluster looks great as does the Alcantara covering. The vehicle is powered by a standard 6.2 liter super charged V8 engine displacing 581 BHP, this is an 18 BHP increase from its predecessor and the maximum output is generated at 6800 RPM.

The seven speed transmission network does its best to optimize performance and as a result the throttle response has increased. The Getrag supplied dual clutch works to its utmost capacity and as a result the response system has grown spontaneous and more active. The electronic control unit responses to every shift by double declutching the system and as a result the transmission system has been smoothened out.

The SLS AMG GT features an enhanced suspension system and as a result the driving experience has grown better than before. A double wish bone suspension has been installed and maintains the same ride height that was originally present in the SLS AMG. The difference in the power train options come to sight just when the engine is started.

The vehicle is 0.7 seconds faster than the SLS AMG in the 60 MPH mark and a whole second faster than the vehicle in the 100 MPH mark. Priced at 180,000 Pounds for the base model, the vehicle is not at the cheap side of things and this investment is only viable if you are a driving enthusiast.
