|   Friday, August 30, 2013
The year 2013 has been an eventful year in terms of new releases in the automobile industry. The various auto shows taking place around the year at different places in the world have seen some great new cars and concepts coming into the market. At the end of the season for new releases, the last auto show of the season, the Shanghai Auto Show has also hosted some great releases from the leading automobile manufacturing brands of the world.

Mercedes Benz has always been a big name in the automobile industry.
The company has managed to consistently roll out new and innovative cars and concepts for many a years. In this year's Shanghai Auto Show also, the company manages to market a new release. The Mercedes Benz compact crossover SUV GLA class concept has been unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show 2013. The car, which shares its platform with the Mercedes Benz A class and B class is going to be yet another wonderful added to the long list of magnificent cars produced by the company.

Mercedes Benz has been planning to expand their market in China. Most of the automobile manufacturing brands of recent times opt to design cars, especially in China, as the customer base in China is very big due to the sheer population of the country and their obsession with cars.
In recent times, a lot of concept cars have been released in the market. The aim of releasing the concept is to gain the feedback from the potential users and then if there is substantial demand for the car then start production.

There are some aspects of the concept already decided on. The engine of any car is a very important aspect, and so the engine fitted in the Mercedes Benz compact crossover SUV GLA class concept was required to be good. The engine fitted in the car is a turbocharged engine with a capacity of 2 liters. The engine has four cylinders and is capable of producing 208 horsepower. These are commendable figures by themselves.

The engine of any car is not enough to enhance the performance of any car. The engine in the Mercedes Benz compact crossover SUV GLA class concept is assisted by a seven speed automatic transmission system. That is not all. The impressive all wheel drive facility is also available on the Mercedes Benz compact crossover SUV GLA class concept.

The styling of the car is also commendable. The car comes with big 20 inch alloy wheels, so the matter of stability and ease of control is taken care of. The styling of the car, however, has been toned down a bit so as to facilitate mass production of the car for the Chinese market.

The multimedia features of the car are more than up to date. There is a laser technology that is being talked about that could be used to project things from the car right onto the road. This can be very helpful, although it has legal issues.
