The craze of Los Angeles Motor Show 2013 was some of the prepped up cars that were brought their, but what stole the eyes of many car enthusiasts amongst these big releases is the new Mercedes Benz B class Electric Drive.

Yes, that is right. Mercedes Benz has released a new Electric motor driven B class. Authorities of this company have assured all car enthusiasts that all features available on gasoline counterpart of this car is going to be available on electric motor driven variety as well.

There were only two specimens of these cars in Los Angeles Motor Show, and both of them have been tested by Mercedes Benz engineers on roads for collecting data regarding performance of this car. These cars were quite appealing from design point of view. It had some typical Mercedes Benz styling attributes with a hint of new innovation, which felt like perfect balance.

What was inside this car was even more interesting. First of all, Tesla Motors is responsible for designing electric motor that drives this car. Tesla has successfully designed some great Electric drive trains for other popular cars on road, and so this car is also set as far as drive train is concerned.

This car has some trademark interior styling of Mercedes Benz as well. It is very comfortable and all controls of this car are well accessible for driver. LCD display and other easy controls are bound to increase enjoyment of this ride.

It is a completely soundless car. There is absolutely no noise once you get inside the cabin of this car. It is well insulated against all outside noises. Drive train of this car is also amazingly soundless. This car is going to hit the roads some time in summer of 2014.

A minor design hindrance of this car is that jack for charging is placed on rear left side of this car, but it is more desirable for it to be in front. Another minor problem is as the electric motor is placed on rear passenger side of car, it is a bit raised than front passenger seat, but there is absolutely no problem of headspace or leg space in this car.

Most important aspect of a car is power and performance of drive train. This car is capable of producing 174 horsepower and 251 pound feet of torque. With these specifications, it is going to take about 7.8 seconds to reach speeds of 60 miles per hour, and top speed of this car is also going to be high.

It is going to take about 3 and a half hours to fully charge the battery and there is an option of a bit extra charge to increase range, although it is advisable not to use it regularly. This car can go more than 100 miles, close to 115 miles to be precise. With the 15% extra charge, it can go an additional 18 miles. Now it is just a wait for this car to release.
