|   Tuesday, July 07, 2015
Mercedes-Benz G 500 4 × 4² can be officially ordered thereby confirming that the German manufacturer impressive off-roader to the assembly line. Now this monster officially has a price! The price quotation, for the basic set is 226,100 euro, no more and no less than double the classic G 500 (105,035 euro).

However, what exactly do those two hundred thousand euro bring, in addition to happiness? Simple: perhaps one of the most capable SUVs in history.
The G500 4 × 4² has inherited the complex geometry of axles from its 6 × 6 big brother. A set of axle portals (the attachment points are mounted above the wheel, connected by their center by a drive gear wheels) offers incredible ground clearance of 45 cm.

The adaptive suspension can be adjusted in two ways: comfort and sport. As a result, the angles of attack and the output angles have increased from 36 and 27 degrees to 52, respectively 54 degrees, while the depth of water that can be crossed by the Mercedes-Benz is 1000 mm, compared to only 600 mm for the conventional model.

Also, at the engine chapter, the G 500 4 × 4² is presented in excellent condition. Under the hood lies a V8 bi-turbo displacing 4.0 liters and rated at 422 hp. It is practically a scaled down version of the propellant used by the latest supercar Mercedes AMG GT. In this case, the all-terrain aggregate produces 422 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque. This way, the vehicle is 2 wheels poorer and down 122 horsepower compared to the original model, the Mercedes G 63 AMG 6 × 6. Also, the G500, 4 × 4² has become the first Mercedes-Benz model that receives as standard the version of this engine equipped with direct injection.

A 7-speed automatic gearbox 7G-tronic works in tandem with the 4 × 4 system specially developed for this model. The G500 4 × 4² presents a separate torque converter, high or low gear ratio and three self-locking differential that can be locked when moving.

The track gauge of the car has been increased by 299 mm to accommodate the 22-inch rims shod in off-road tires. The suspension is extremely efficient, with officials saying this enables the car to travel off-road in such a way that passengers feel like in a real sports car and not one that is going cross-country.

The Mercedes-Benz G500 4 × 4² reaches 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h or 160 km/h with the optional off-road tires package. The G 63 AMG 6 × 6 and G 500 4 × 4² both have special tires: Mud Terrain standing at 37 x 12.5 x 18 inches, which can be deflated to a pressure of at least 1.0 bar to run on sand.

The interior of the model was made in the style of all G-Class versions after the most recent restyling. Sales will begin in December this year.
