McLaren Conducts All Weather Tests on the P1 in California this Week
|   Thursday, September 26, 2013
McLaren unveiled the P1 a few months back although tests are still ongoing at the moment to devise a higher end version of this vehicle. All weather tests are currently being performed on this vehicle in California while McLaren hopes to commence deliveries by the end of this month. This event will also mark McLaren's 50th anniversary and both events are expected to coincide.

McLaren knows how to keep fans waiting and motivated and a recently unveiled video showcased exactly what their flagship is capable of performing.
A grueling on track test was performed to check the performance aspect of this vehicle and by the look of things, these tests were fairly popular. This teaser video did what it was supposed to do and fans have been uncontrollable since. The P1 was originally designed to be a track racing monster and as a result its components were accordingly arranged.

Powered by a twin turbo charged, 3.8 liter engine lifted off the MP4 12C, this vehicle displaces 903 BHP along with 663 ft lb of torque. An additional electric motor gives this hybrid an edge over its competitors in power generation while smooth ergonomics is a positive aspect of this car. Engineers at McLaren were quite confident about their next venture and this has brushed onto this car.

It is perfect in every sense of the engineering term while being an aerodynamic masterpiece. This vehicle was originally designed on basic principles of Formula One car designs and underbody air flow was efficiently taken care of, for the first time on a production ready sports car. McLaren has designed quite a few monsters in its lifetime, the P1 undoubtedly is the most powerful and complete vehicle in their lineup till date.

Advanced Traction Control has been installed on this vehicle which gives it superior grip on track, around sharp bends. On road, this car should do equally well, even though high speed tests are yet to be conducted on road. A seven speed, dual clutch transmission system has been mated to the engine while the rear wheel drive train distributes this power to the wheels efficiently.

Pirelli P Zero Corsa, 19 inch rims have been used as standard on this vehicle while 20 inch rims are available on special request. This teaser video was the first undisguised run of this car post its official launch this year. High expectations are kept of this machine although insiders are confident of its performance. After seeing this brutal beauty perform on road, you should forget what the Porsche 918 Spyder is capable of.

Winter tests have been conducted on this car while summer tests are almost over. This is a time for McLaren to truly enjoy as they are bang on target and within time too. McLaren however does not plan no taking a leave right now as they plan to start working on their next big project. Even though its P1 is the current trendsetter, the company should come up with a new car within the next few years.
