McLaren Announces the Launch of 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Models
|   Wednesday, May 29, 2013
McLaren has announced its plans to launch a limited edition model of the MP4 12 C and the 12 C Spyder as a celebrated model for the 50th birth anniversary of the brand. This is great news in the market as the 12 C twins had managed to stir up the market quite a while ago before the P1 came to claim its territory. This will give the MP4 12 C a second chance to prove its worth to the public and this move is hence being reduced.

The McLaren MP4 12 C and the 12 C Spyder have undergone both mechanical as well as cosmetic upgrades and this will definitely instill new life into both the vehicles.
Power displacement figures are however static although this will not cause major dismay in the market. The car is being customized by the Special Operation Division at McLaren and this is a very special project at the moment.

Some of the major mechanical and exterior changes include a minor tweak to the front and rear bumper along with carbon fiber components and these combined, increases the down force hence keeping the vehicle stable and pinned onto the ground at all times. The vehicle features ceramic glass disk brakes which are super light but highly durable and as a result are very commonly used in most super and hyper class vehicles.

The MP 4 12 C and the 12 C Spyder sport 19 inch sports rims which are super light as well as highly decorative and enhance the look of the car as well as enhances performance. McLaren claims that this arrangement will save an additional 2 kg over the Optional Light Weight wheels. This is a major achievement and will definitely have a very positive impact on the way the McLarens handles and perform on real road conditions.

Some of the minor interior changes include new overall leather upholstery along with subtle 50th anniversary badging. The special merchandise also includes a carbon fiber key, specially designed print and a presentation box. These are important merchandise especially considering the fact that they come exclusively with the car and there is no other way of getting hold of either one apart from purchasing a Limited Edition MP 4 12 C or a 12 C Spyder.

To distinguish between the standard and Limited Edition models, Aston Martin is offering three distinct external color schemes on the ride – Supernova Silver, Carbon Black and Heritage McLaren Orange. The Heritage Orange is expected to be the hot favorite as it depicts a McLaren in its true beauty. This has been the best looking vehicle for quite some time in the market and this is the best way to pay tribute to the vehicle that changed the way hyper cars are looked at in the market at present.
Prices for the Limited Edition 50th anniversary McLaren MP 4 12 C starts at £196,000 while the top of the end version is available for £215,500. The 12 C Spyder adds another £20,000 over the models.
