McLaren 570S: Official Launch Of The Smallest British Supercar
|   Thursday, May 07, 2015
McLaren has officially unveiled the new 570S Coupe, the first model of the new Sports Series range, positioned below the current Super Series, which includes the 650S Coupe.

The smallest McLaren model takes the design of its big brother 650S, with aggressive front lines, inspired by the P1flagship, and with a redesigned aerodynamic package. The coupe is the first bodywork variant of the Sports Series range, as recognized by those from McLaren. Also, the plans of McLaren involve launching a convertible version too.

Developed on the MonoCell II chassis made of carbon fiber, the new McLaren 570S was designed for everyday use, as a supercar willing to accept frequent running and the challenges of urban traffic.

The interior is also a copy of older siblings and promises to offer customers everything that means contemporary technology. Behind the wheel will be digital instruments, while passengers will have access to a 7-inch touch screen named Iris, which integrates climate control, Bluetooth and digital radio.
Among the customization options, customers will find Alcantara and Nappa leather, carbon fiber, an audio system with eight speakers or 12 speakers signed by Bowers & Wilkins willing to provide 1280 watts.

The McLaren 570S Coupe features a twin turbo V8 (supercharged with two turbines) code M838TE, which develops 570 horsepower and a torque of 600 Nm from a displacement of 3.8 liters. The car reaches 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds and 200 km / h in 9.5 seconds. Top speed is 328 km / h. According to official data the car consumes on average 9.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers and emits an average of 258 grams CO2 / km.

In order to ensure a ride worthy of the resources under the hood, the new McLaren 570S has a new suspension for both the front and the rear axle, 19- and 20-inch rims, carbon ceramic brakes, and special Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

Like the engine, the carbon fiber structure will also be taken literally from its older brothers. Titled MonoCell II, it brings an advantage of 80 kg in weight loss. This advantage is further enhanced by the light body made of aluminum. Unladen weight is only 1313 kg, a value that greatly overshadows the 1580 kg announced by the Porsche 911 Turbo S. According to McLaren, the new 570S is the new benchmark in the segment in terms of power per weight ratio: 434 hp / ton compared to the 2.8 hp / kg belonging to rivals from Zuffenhausen (560 hp).

The manufacturer says it is the most practical model, with a 150 liter trunk in front, for its compact dimensions: 4,530 mm long, 2,095 mm wide and only 1,202 mm high.

The Sports Series range includes three distinct models. In addition to the coupe that debuted at New York two more body styles are planned: a two-seater spider and a four-seat coupe. During its career the new McLaren 570S will receive two additional versions, a 525S, dedicated to the Chinese market, and a LT top-model inspired by the 650S' extreme version, the recently launched 675LT.
