Mazda unveils its 2015 CX-3 before Los Angeles Motor Show
|   Tuesday, November 25, 2014
Fans had to wait a lot for Mazda's new CX-3 to get unveiled and its detailed are leaked now just before the motor show takes place in Los Angeles. Its official debut will be taken place in Australia in March, 2015.

It has been nearly two years and half when it was revealed for the first time in few websites about this baby SUV concept. It was planned to be sitting just below the mid-sized CX-5, which is still one of the highest selling SUVs in Australia for having excellent size and price.

According to latest reports, the CX-3 has a 4275 mm long and 1765 mm wide body. There is a shark fin style antenna which increases its height to 1550 mm. Its front faced overhang measure exactly 910 mm where as the rear is retained with the old stocky proportion having an overhang of 795 mm.

The design what this model has is called as radically beautiful by Mazda. Its front has a seven finned grille and headlights are separated from indicators so that it gets an eye gazing look.As per Mazda, CX-3 was designed keeping the thing in mind how creating any car has a larger look than its reality.

It should be said that this has been achieved by the designers by making the D-pillars after employing long noses. Its interior heavily borrows parts from Mazda2 which is also a borrower of Mazda 3 auto parts. This proves company wants to take away a large workload pressure from the driver by making it a lot simpler in terms of getting information on the screen.

CX-3 uses high end technologies at its front and at centre of cabin too but only in highly spec models. It will also have head-up displays with Mazda's MZD Connection which leads the Japanese package in its infotainment systems. Mazda has also declared the details of its engines which are two numbers of four cylinders with Skyactiv engines. One is 2.0 liter petrol, another is 1.5 liter diesel.

Both of its engines will have either six speeds automatic or six speeds manual transmissions. Power figures will remain still unconfirmed, but it is expected that a similar powerful 1.5 liter diesel will be used in it which will produce 77 kW and torque of 250 NM.

For both Australian models, the official details have not been yet declared but most probably both of them will reach showrooms having petrol engine front wheels with diesel based all wheeled drive. Mazda says all the AWD versions are using a latest system which is very similar to CX-5 having active control coupling torque. However, making use of front wheeled slip warning detecting system will work far better the intentions of a driver during various road conditions.

The variants get additional sound too which is really deadening through reinforcements mixed with cross members connecting the back side frame. Prices of this particular model are not yet confirmed but in Australia the CX-5 price starts from $28,000 comparing which CX-3 should be priced around to $20,000 to $25,000.
