The second concept with which the Japanese have been presented at SEMA is called MX-5 Speedster Evolution. For those who have forgotten, the MX-5 Speedster was seen at SEMA 2015, and the new version is an evolution of last year's prototype.

The Mazda MX-5 Speedster Evolution model got some items hidden behind the car dashboard removed, like the board clocks which have been replaced with a touch screen. The old battery has been replaced with a lithium one, which weighs only 2 kg, and the Brembo braking system has been replaced by another one with less weight than the ones installed on the MX-5 Sport and Grand Touring conventional models. As a result, the overall weight was reduced by another 45 kilograms down to 898 kg. In this way the car now weighs 15 percent, or 159 kilograms, less than the early version with a retractable roof!

After these changes, the Mazda MX-5 Speedster Evolution was painted in white "White Ether" and equipped with the RAYS 57 Transcend Gram Lights 17-inch rims, shod in BFGoodrich g-Force Rival R1 tires, 225/45 R17 sized, which are used on racing cars in the MX-5 Global Cup championship. The suspension was taken from racing cars that participate in the same championship.

Besides the copy deprived of any roof and windshield MX-5 RF Kuro model was revealed, based on the model with a rigid retractable roof. According to officials from Mazda, with the MX-5 RF model the Japanese manufacturer enters in the premium segment, providing a sophisticated roof and perfect comfort on board. The Mazda MX-5 RF Kuro concept adopts technology inspired by motorsports, such as the suspension and the RAYS 17-inch rims taken from racing cars from the MX-5 Global Cup championship, tuned down however for public roads.

The tires are the street semi-slick type, BFGoodrich Rival G Force, 215/45 R17, and the braking system is a Brembo with two-piston calipers on the front axle and one piston on the rear axle. The bodywork was painted in a matte color, Satin Black Metallic, and the windows fully toned. The sport exhaust system from OpenFlash Performance is 450 grams lighter than before.

Note that the most important is the fact that these two concepts were built using parts that can be purchased by any owner of the new MX-5!
