Mazda Previews he 2 Hatchback with the Concept Hazumi
|   Thursday, March 06, 2014
The recently showcased Mazda Hazumi has close links to what the next generation Mazda 2 could look like. Experts are reviewing the Hazumi as a previewed variant of the Mazda 2, which is expected to go on sale later in 2015. Mazda was quite popular at the Geneva Motor Show this week with their Concept hatch back, which they claim is more powerful and fuel efficient than other market rivals.

Mazda has installed their efficient Sky Active technology on this vehicle, which they claim offers better value for money.
Powered by a 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine emitting around 90 g/km of CO2, this vehicle has been extensively designed in Japan, with suitable help from California and Germany. Measuring 4070 x 1730 x 1450 mm (length x breadth x height) this vehicle is quite large for market standards.

Despite its aggressive characteristics, this vehicle will not be sanctioned for production purposes. The few nominal changes that will be installed on its production variant are door handles, headlights and wing mirrors. A specially designed 1.5 liter petrol engine is in place, with which Mazda hopes to attract local customers. Newer technologies in this vehicle are a must and we expect the same to be installed in future production vehicles too.

This vehicle will be built on an overall larger chassis, which would be manufactured along with Toyota's Yaris in few global markets too. Its interior on this vehicle is closely reflected to the actual production car, while focusing on craftsmanship and connectivity. Like Mazda's latest 3 production saloon, this vehicle features MZD Connect System. Mazda hopes to enhance sales across European markets with their 2 hatch back.

The Japanese car makers have witnessed huge improvements in sales for the past 12 months, as compared to its previous year. Market recovery in Europe is a major strategy which most car makers have been working on for the past few years, to recover losses incurred during the global recession. Sales in the UK particularly have fallen by a great margin, from which major car makers are trying to recover.

Extensive research and development have gone behind the Hazumi, which has spent a considerable amount of time under the wind tunnel. Needless to say, we have high expectations from the Mazda 2, which is soon to be revealed in concept forms. Mazda has launched their Hazumi concept to spice up the global car making scenario. This vehicle is a complete example of Mazda trying to recover sales, as well as coming up with exciting new models in the near future.

The 2 is expected to feature both three door and five door structure, although a few exterior characteristics such as 18 inch alloys and powerful LED infused head lamps, along with Daytime Running Lights, will be carried forward to every production model. Premium class materials have been used to enhance finesse and overall refinement, while we are yet to know of engine refinement, as test drives were not available. We plan on getting back to you with details soon.
