|   Thursday, October 11, 2012
The recently unveiled Mazda 6 range of vehicles has been doing well at the ongoing Paris International Motor Show 2012 and the sedan variant is the perfect vehicle for speed enthusiasts looking for a performance family sedan.

The Mazda 6 is the second lineup of vehicles to feature Mazda's innovative Sky Active technology after the CX 5 and the vehicles feature a high note of efficiency and weight saving features.

The vehicle has a few minor modifications and the rear A-pillar has been shunted by close to 100 mm towards the exterior.
The sedan looks more like a cabriolet and the long bonnet gives the vehicle a sporty feel.

The Mazda 6 sedan is an innovative machine and it weighs close to 100 kg less than the Mondeo hatch back. The advanced weight reduction measures have helped increase the fuel efficiency and top speed along with the acceleration of the machine and the choice of materials has played an important role in the final aesthetics of the vehicle.

The cabin has a nice feel to it and vehicle has a lot of soft plastic, carbon fiber and aluminum usage in it. The car is overall quite colorful and the switch gear and the inner console are very compact and colorful.
The dash board is plain, simple yet classy and this increases the appeal of the vehicle as a business machine. The driving position on the vehicle has been enhanced and the posture is perfect for viewing the road without much difficulties.

The height of the steering wheel and that of the seat can be adjusted and this results in better control over the road in all situations. The vehicle although performance oriented, is not fun to drive and it feels a lack of urgency every time the pedal is pushed back to the ground.

The Sky Active 2.22 liter petrol engine is the basic of the different power train options on the vehicle and an advanced compression ratio of 14:1 helps torque formation of 280 ft lb. Turbo lag has been minimized and this is the only positive aspect of the Mazda 6.

The vehicle produces 173 BHP and 310 ft lb of torque. Combined fuel efficiency of the machine is 68.9 mpg and the Co2 emission is 108 g/km. This is quite an achievement considering the size of the vehicle.
The car features a top speed of 131 mph and this is slower than the estate by 2 mph. The car accelerates to 60 mph from a stand still within 9.0 seconds and this is 0.1 seconds faster than the estate.

Priced at 25,695 Pounds for the base model, the Mazda 6 sedan has a curb weight of 1408 kg. The turbo diesel engine displaces 2,192 cc and a little more displacement would have been appreciated. Mazda has been working on the difficulties faced by the customers and have developed the Mazda 6 line of vehicle keeping in mind the customer's feedback. This is great news for the fans as their company looks up to their needs.
